Chapter Five
The morning was woe to most of the people at the party, but none so much as Tifa Lockhart.
"OH MY GOD!" A scream rang out of the house. "WHY AM I NAKED?"
She searched frantically for Rude or her clothes, and found neither. "OH, lord."
Barret shook his head, trying to rid it of the headache. "Look, yer naked. No one cares. Shut the hell up!"
Tifa moaned and sank to the floor. Where was Rude? Why did he leave her here?
And who the hell took her clothes?
By this time most sane people were getting ready for school. It was, after all, a Tuesday.
Cid laughed when he found out about the incident. He'd told Barret that a party on a Monday Night was a bad idea. Oh well.
Reno got to school and immediately felt threatened. He stepped into the foyer and all of the sudden people quieted and whispered. He ducked his head down and hurried to the upstairs cafeteria.
"Hey." He heard a voice behind him. He turned and found himself looking strait into Tasha's blue eyes.
He felt a sudden spurt of panic, that Tasha would reveal him in front of the entire school. He was doomed.
"Anonymity...whom you see here, what you hear here, when you leave here, let it stay here. That means that if I see someone here that I know from work, church, school, whatever, I won't go blabbing it out to the entire world, because that's their decision." So said the man from the meeting last night.
Tasha grinned at Reno, and gestured him over to her group. "What's happening?" She asked, and if Reno didn't know, he wouldn't have guessed. He sighed a small sigh of relief and responded.
"Eh, I got grounded yesterday. Nothing much."
His eyes raked the new school. It was...strange.
Foreign exchange students were treated nicely, he'd been told at his arrival. Most gained friends fast, and were quite popular.
Nanaki doubted it. His native people didn't like him, and chances were, it wouldn't be much better here.
Slanted eyes didn't help much.
He couldn't wait to go back to Japan. He was going to miss his ninja studies a lot.
A lot.
He sighed and picked up his bag, heading for his first class. At least he would do well, academically.
After all, everyone in the world knew that the United States had the worst school system anywhere.
Rufus walked through the school. He wished he had the ability to be invisible, but it just wasn't happening. Everyone always looked at him strange. He was the rich kid in school.
His father owned a chain of power companies all along the western half of the United States. He was very wealthy.
And of course he gave his son everything he wanted. Well, except for attention. When we has younger Rufus had actually wanted the attention, and unfortuanatly, he'd gotten it. But he had learned to avoid his father at all costs.
He had no where to go. He wandered at breaks, and in the morning he hid out in the bathrooms.
Wonder where Sephiroth is... He'd said he might not be at his little hideout but...he could find him. Grey hair wasn't all that prevalant at CHS.
He'd find him. Yeah. Then he wouldn't feel like a total loser.
Sephiroth blinked once, then again.
Aeris...hanging out with Tasha? What the hell?
And she wasn't wearing black, either.
Something was up.
He leaned over and gave her a small kiss on the cheek. "Don't be suprised if you don't see Miss Lockhart today."
Tasha smiled crookedly. "Why is that, babe?"
Cid grinned. "She had a little incident involving a keg of beer."
Tasha widened her eyes. "Nothing serious?"
"Nah, but I wouldn't want to be Rude today if she catches up to him."
"Why not?" A voice said over his shoulder. The pair swiveled around to set eyes on the aforementioned Rude.
"Why not? Are you insane?" Cid exclaimed.
"Eh, Tifa's used to not having clothes handy. I'm breaking it off."
A shocked silence fell over the small group. Rude grinned.
"She was good in bed, though."
Lucrecia blew her nose for the tenth time that day. Her cold was setting in, fast.
It always did during the winter. People got sick all the time in Nevada during the winter.
Ugh. But why her?
She was feeling a little dizzy. Maybe this was a little more than just a cold....
That was her last thought before she hit the floor in the middle of her chem class.
