Blue and White

Chapter Nineteen

Tasha didn't know what to do with herself.
Christmas break is coming up soon...
She could go Christmas shopping for her friends and...her family.
Minus her father, of course.
She sighed. Shopping was no fun without someone to hang out with, and everyone was busy. Nicole was out with her boyfriend, Jeremy, and Chris just didn't want to leave the house, and Cid's mother was making him do the family thing today.
What about Lisa?
Tasha shrugged and picked up the phone.

"Lisa? Oh, she's out with her new boyfriend."
Tasha blinked. "Her what?"
"Her new boyfriend, Jason."
Tasha frowned. "Right. I'll call back later."
FUCK.
This was not good.

Chris narrowed his eyes. Of course. As usual. He should have known.
Lisa was going out with Jason now. How...ironic. Oh well.
That's the way it always happens. No one cares about Chris.
He shrugged and turned away from Tasha. "Oh well. Shit happens."
Tasha looked concerned, but accepted his false acceptance and left.
He sighed, softly. Why can't anyone love me?

The van made a loud vrrrrmmmm sound as Tasha fired it up. It was her favorite of all of her family's vehicles.
She still felt really shitty about having told Chris. It was better for him to have found out on his own, but something made her tell him. He was a good friend of hers, so he had a right to know...
She felt rather depressed about it, too. Chris needed a girlfriend more than Jason...that prick.
Okay, this is getting you nowhere...shop! She told herself, firmly, and backed the van out of the garage.

Sephiroth frowned. Lucrecia wouldn't even hear of it.
But it was true! Lucrecia had to admit that.
Sephiroth and her were siblings. They had a perfect match.
And she just wouldn't let him be a donor.
"Please, Lucrecia. I don't want you to die." Sephiroth pleaded.
"Sephiroth..just...no."
"I don't want to lose my only sister, when I've just discovered it..."
He remembered how shocked he'd been when Jenova had told him.
He had a sister...a father...everything. He'd even gone to see his father, who had welcomed him with open arms. He'd asked about Jenova, had had him over for dinner, talked to him...everything.
"I don't want to lose you." He said. "And Vincent...."
Lucrecia turned her head. "...Maybe you could just get a test..."
Sephiroth grinned. Of course. Vincent, her one weak spot.
This might just work.

Rufus grimaced. "Hello, father."
"How are you doing in school, son?" His father asked, absently.
"Just fine, sir. I have strait A's."
"Wonderful, wonderful." The older man stroked his beard sullenly, and turned to him. "Any girls?"
Rufus blushed. "Uh...well..."
"Have you made any friends?"
His blush deepened. "Yes, sir."
"You should have a little get-together sometime." His father said. His face said Prove it. You're a loser and you know it. You don't have any friends.
Rufus bridled. "I just may do that. I could invite my girlfriend, too."
He stormed out of his father's compartment, face intent. He would prove himself to his father, somehow.

Shera smiled. She'd lost three pounds in one day. God, she looked good.
And she hadn't needed to cut herself in five hours. She was looking better.
Life was wonderful sometimes.

The redhead jogged slowly. Slow was better, anyway.
He decided he should get in shape. He was thinking about maybe going into ROTC next semester, and you had to be pretty fit for that.
They'd make him cut his hair, but hey, what the hell. It was time for a change...cutting his hair would make him leave his past behind.
Maybe that's what you're running for. Not to get in shape, but to run from your past. So efficient...
The thought sprang into his head before he could stop it, and he stopped right where he was. He stood looking at the clear night sky.
What do you want from me?
