CHRISTMAS COLLECTION Thanks to the efforts of some keen individuals, we have a beautiful sleigh mounted upon a trailer that is towed around the residential streets of Dorchester each year. The sleigh is brightly painted with a fully lit Christmas tree inside and equipped with a high volume CD player that fills the streets with the sounds of wonderful Christmas Carols. Often there is a Father Christmas that follows the sleigh and the children flock to the doors to see him. It has become a regular event that Dorchester residents look forward to each year and which puts Rotary in the forefront of people’s minds.
It is also a good fundraising event, having raised over £2,000 in 2001, which was distributed to local projects.
