How
do specific cultural elements that characterized a decade also appear
today? |
| The 1980s and today could be called two of the most frantic decades of change in American History. The main common denominator of these decades has been the removal of military governments or communist regimes. The 1980s was a catapult for our country from the transportation to the informational age. In this new millennium we have just begun tapping into that informational age and now we are setting the foundation for later decades to build onto. Most of the new technological inventions were created in the 1980s that now have become the most widely used in our society, such as the cell phone and the computer. These have made the 1989s strand out as the most technological decade until today. The decades of the 1980s and the 2000s were and are very important to the shaping of what our country is. |
