She ain't no Suzanne Schalin! or Talent Wasted Again
by Erick Smith
What you are about to read is a first in a new series called "As I see RollerJam." They are truly commentaries and I would like to get many different writers for these pieces including skaters and fans. If you are interested in making your voice known on one of the best independent RollerJam sites please submit your article to [email protected]. .....and now, on to today's article...
Last week the WSL debuted a new star, her name is Julie Gordon but you might know her as Julie Amazon. To the casual observer from a distance, many said, what's Suzanne Schalin doing skating? But as the camera zoomed in anyone could tell that this was not Suzanne Schalin! With a bright orange set of skates, unbelievable height, and a knack for teamwork, Julie Amazon could become one of the most formidable skaters in the WSL, or could she?
Julie Amazon's talent is complimented nicely by the minister of pain, Jannet Abraham. The duo makes a formidable tag team at the back of the pack. In their first performance it took three tough women in the form of the Oral Authority to take down the duo of Abraham and Amazon.

Amazon also possesses incredible speed which also makes her function in the role of a jammer.
However in the next few weeks it all falls apart! RollerJam fans will unfortunately be treated to something that we haven't seen in a few seasons, the last time it happened, it happened to this team:
That's right, much like the Texas Rustlers, the Florida Sundogs will disband scattering the skaters left on the fledgling team. Skaters like the Martins, and Sigmund Williams who the fans have come to know and love will take their leave. Even the blocker who was once part of the Enforcers, and was known as one of the meanest Sisters of Suffering will disappear, Jannet Abraham. So what does this have to do with Julie Amazon?
Well, it's simple. As RollerJam shrinks yet again, some talent must be sacrificed and thus, there goes Julie Amazon. Amazon as well as new skater Irene Pons (pictured at left) will disappear, and any new talent that may evolve will be put off. A new feud between perhaps the trio of terror on the Dogs with the Bod Squad just wont be happening, so we will be treated to Oral Authority vs. Bod Squad all season!

Think about it RollerJam! Think about developing some new talent like Amazon and Pons. A fan or two, or maybe a lot more then that might like it!
