Well, Punch is now finally gone, I
think. It survived two other incarnations, but the end of Alan
Coren's editorship, in the 1980s, was really the last stand of the great
humour magazine on which the New Yorker was modeled.
This is a familiar cartoon trope, the four horsemen of the Apocalypse.
It's a good 'way-in' cartoon from that period, 1984. I drew this one
without any pencil work. The bricks kind of give that away.
