| We operate a closed Aviary for the safety and well-being of our birds and our customers. Customers that have a baby here, being handfed are allowed to visit, by appointment only, after the baby reaches 8 weeks of age and has had its 2nd polyoma vaccination. We place our babies in responsible, loving, committed homes. Parrot babies are a lifelong Commitment, they will probably outlive you. Parrots make lousy decorations! In addition to being intelligent, sensitive and wonderful companions, They are messy, noisy, destructive and at times demanding. If you are not prepared for this please DO NOT purchase a Parrot baby. PARROTS ARE NOT DISPOSABLE, NOR DO WE FUNCTION AS A "USED" PARROT DEALER WE DO NOT DO TRADE-IN'S !!! If you are not committed to the Parrot you already have - you will not be committed to the Parrot you trade it for. please do not ask! We limit the number of babies that we raise each year. We do not mass produce baby birds. We bring babies in for handfeeding/raising when we have a reservation. We average between 20 and 30 babies each year, and we stop accepting reservations when the number exceeds this. This allows us to spend the time necessary to provide you with a well socialized, well adjusted, well trained family companion. We do NOT sell unweaned babies ~ We do NOT deal in Hybrids Whenever possible, our babies are parent hatched and fed for two to four weeks. This ensures that the baby receives necessary enzymes from the parents, resulting in bigger, healthier and hardier babies. Babies are NOT force or deprivation weaned. Babies are weaned when THEY say they are weaned. Babies are abundance weaned onto a diet of pellets, sprouts, fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, legumes, pasta and a large variety of other healthy people food. We do not tube or gavage feed unless absolutely necessary for the babies well being. Babies are allowed to fledge fully and learn to fly. Wings are trimmed before the babies leave our home. Babies are well socialized to grooming and other rituals, such as bathing, nail trims, toweling, travel carriers, car rides, family gatherings, household noises, and activities, traffic noises, the outdoors, indoors and literally everything else we can think of. Babies are well socialized to Men, Women, Children, Strangers, Pets. Babies are trained to wear a harness, step up, step down and stay on an open perch. Many are already doing a trick or two by the time they leave us, such as Waving and/or Shaking Hands. Some are talking and all of them watch Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel. All babies are DNA Sexed, Polyoma Vaccinated, Vet Checked, including Blood Work, Cultures and MicroChip Identification. All babies are sold on contract with a Written Health and Compatibility Guarantee. We will take our babies back anytime for any reason! (see Guarantee).
