The Unveiling
The book
begins with John explaining that Yahveh gave this Apocalypse (unveiling)
to Yahshuah the Messiah who gave it to an angel who communicated it to
John. Yahveh revealed it to Yahshuah so he would know what would shortly
befall his disciples. We are not told if Yahshuah received this revelation
before He died at Jerusalem, or after he ascended to heaven.
John says the Revelation
comes from three sources
1. Yahveh who is, and who was, and who is to come.
2. The seven Spirits who stand before Yahveh's throne.
3. Yahshuah, the only begotten son of God, the first man to gain immortality, the Messiah.
The
Man Standing Amidst the Seven Menorahs
John hears Yahveh telling him to write down what he sees and send it to
the seven communities in Asia. John turns to see who is speaking. He does
not see Yahveh but sees a spirit being like a man standing amidst Seven
Menorahs holding seven stars in his right hand. This is the same spirit who visited Daniel. Jesus speaks through him but he is not Jesus. He has white hair, a two-edged sword coming from his mouth,
his feet are glowing like burnished bronze and his face is shining like
the sun. The sword coming from his mouth is symbolic of the Word of God. This spirit being
tells John that the seven menorahs represent the seven communities of
the New Israel to whom John is to send what he writes.
