General Gog-The Last Foolish Rebel

Ezekiel in Chapters 38 and 39 tells us that Gog is a ruler from the land of Magog. He is the "chief Prince of Meshech". (Ez.39.1)

David in Psalm 120:5 says those of Meshech are lovers of war and haters of peace. Gog is also the chief prince of Tubal. Genesis 4:22 links Tubal as a descendant of Cain , the first murderer. His father was Lamech who said he would carry out vengeance against his enemies seventy times seven. Tubal was an "artificer in brass and iron". That would make him the father of military hardware.

After a thousand years when Satan is released once more he will rise up one last evil general who will gather an army to destroy the people of Yahve and Yahshuah. This is the final great battle of the Bible. Gog leads the troops from the land of Magog against the "beloved city" which by now you should understand is not Jerusalem in the Middle East but the Faithful Remnant of Christians, the New Jerusalem.

Magog is not a specific country because it says the troops of Magog come from "the four corners of the earth". I am suggesting that Magog represents the realm of all unbelievers all over the planet,. "the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.". In the last days they will be galvanized against the Faithful Remnant. But when they have the Faithful Remnant surrounded and are about to attack "fire" comes down from heaven and anihilates them.

So How Does this Connect to Solomon?

Ezekiel 39:11 gives us a clue that Gog's earlier name was Hamon: "Hamon-Gog"

Hamon was a Canaanite war god whose earliest name was Baal-Hamon. So Gog is really Baal the ancient enemy of Yahveh. In the Baal temples children were burned while the devotees copulated and made wild music.

The Song of Solomon, or as some scholars insist "The Song About Solomon" says in Chapter 8 that Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-Hamon.We know that a vineyard stands for a religious group. So I am suggesting that Solomon went to Baal-Hamon to offer child-sacrifices to Baal the war god of the Canaanites. In fact Solomon's soldiers who are called "the keepers of the wall." or the "watchmen" (Shamgar in Hebrew). were all part of the Solomon's vineyard to Baal.

"Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-Hamon. He let out the vineyard unto keepers." (Canticles 8:11)

These soldiers of Solomon (and don't forget Solomon made every Israeli a man of war), appear in one of the most terrifying scenes in the Canticles Chapter 5. The Shulamite Shepherdess (the Faithful Remnant of Old Israel) to whom Solomon has been professsing his love, awakes one night to find he has left her.

"I opened to my beloved, but my beloved had withdrawn himself and was gone...I sought him but I could not find him. I called him but he gave no answer" (Cant.5:6) .

Instead The Keepers came for her.

"The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me. The keepers of the wall took away my vail." (Cant.5:7)

But the smiting and the wounding of Yahveh's people is about to end. Satan and General Gog and their troops are about to reach the final battle.
