In episode 1, during the parachute jump, David tried to talk Gloria out of jumping. If she had decided to stay in the plane, the team would have lost their first challenge - and lost out on £10,000.
When Oliver couldn't get through to Zi with the mobile phone in the hostage challenge, David had changed the number that had been programmed into the phone. Being out of contact with the others was always going to be a hindrance. The team did lose the challenge - but this wasn't down to the Mole.

In episode 2, on the golf challenge, David deliberately got his question wrong. The challenge was lost.

In episode 3, during the wine tasting, David also deliberately made a mistake. Again, the challenge was lost along with the money.

In episode 4, David refused to touch the fish, so Zi had to do it. Also, during the island challenge, David wandered off in the middle of the night and tore a hole in the dinghy. Even so, both challenges were won.

For the challenge in episode 5 he studied photos of the friends and family of the contestants before the challenge took place. It was easy for him to misidentify the people sat on the stage, and the challenge was lost.

In episode 6 he deliberately got his question wrong at the bottom of the deathslide, which made the team lose £10,000.

In episode 7, during the jet ski challenge, David deliberately turned around in order to avoid a 15-second penalty. This cost him more than fifteen seconds - and it cost the team £5,000.

In the GPS challenge in episode 8, only David's Global Positioning System seemed to be working. Why was that? Well, he'd actually secretly reprogrammed Zi and Jennifer's systems, causing them to run aimlessly around Jersey. Afterwards he accused Jennifer she didn't try hard enough.
