Family tradition reports that two brothers came from Wexford, Ireland. One came first, the other one came a few years later, staid for a while and then left New Brunswick.
William ROACH appears in the following records:
- land petition in 1822 (he is said single, 26 years of age, born in Wexford, Ireland)
- land grant July 30th, 1924: 100 acres of land, Carleton, Northumberland County (on the same land grant appear the names of James Brown and James Fahey)
- land grant July 28th, 1824: 500 acres of land, Carleton, Northumberland County (on the same land grant appear 168 names)
- tombstone in Aldouane Cemetery: Moses Roach, son of William, died 16 Dec 1848 at age 11
- tombstone in Aldouane Cemetery: William Roach d. Apr 29th, 1838 at 38. He is probably the one family word-of-mouth history says was killed by a fallen tree in Targetville. Targetville matches the location where William Roach's land can be seen on the old map.
