Research Notes (Husband)

In 1861 William Roach, 31 years old and lives on the Roach homestead in Weldford parish with his brother Anthony Sr's family, his other brothers Martin and Joseph and their mother Mary.

10 years later, the young family of a William and Ellen Roach lives a couple of houses away. The Roachnewbrunswick group suspects this William is Anthony's brother who married and moved out, but has not seen any evidence of it.

A gentleman called Toni, who we lost contact with, had traced his ancestors up to them. He found William Roach and Ellen Raleigh ended up moving to the U.S. where they died (Berlin). He suspected they were coming from Moses Roach, but had not figured out how.

The couple has been found on 1900 census, Essex County, Vermont, living with their son William and his wife Catherine. They both can read, write and speak English, and live in a rented house.
