President JOHN WHETTON has lived in the Ravenshead area since 1966. One of the world's best milers in 1960s (two Olympic finals and European Champion), he is still very fit but would hate to be subjected to stopwatch scrutiny even though he has a devoted interest in scientific instruments and the measurement of time. Now retired from his university post, he is drug testing for International Sports Federations. He is a very active Conservative and has been fund raising for local branches for over 25 years.
Vice President JOE LONERGAN MBE has lived in Ravenshead with his wife Anne since 1978, has been Chairman of the Ravenshead Parish Council since its formation in 1987 and was the Nottinghamshire County Councillor for Ravenshead from 1993 to 2009. He is a member of the Village Hall Management Committee, Byron Probus, Community Care Forum, Newstead Village Liaison Group and Vice Chairman of the Papplewick and Linby Branch of the Royal British Legion. He is a local School Governor of 20 years standing. Joe is President of the Sherwood Conservative Association. Joe`s appointment as MBE was announced in the 1984 Honours List.
Chairman ROBERT SMITH married Elaine in 1975 and they have 2 married children. He moved to Ravenshead in 1987 and now lives in Newstead Abbey Park. A trained Quantity Surveyor, he floated his first Company on the Stock Market at the age of 30 and sold his second company in 2005. His last Company put the new roof on St Pancras station as well as the external envelope on the Bull Ring shopping centre amongst others. His hobbies are family, friends and being in Spain.

BRUCE ANDREWS serves on the Parish Council having previously served from 1989 till 1995. He has lived in Ravenshead with his wife Patricia since 1976 and has a son and a daughter.
He is employed in sales and marketing for a Leicester company, having recently sold his own textile firm. His main interest is cricket for which he is a qualified coach, a member of the Newstead Cricket Club and maintains a large collection of books on the subject.
Deputy Chairman - Political & Campaigning DAVE SAUNDERS is originally from London and moved to Nottinghamshire in 1979 where he lives with his wife Janet. Since selling his Timber & Joinery business in 2007, he remains a Fellow of his professional Institute and a Freeman & Liveryman of the City of London and is actively involved promoting educational standards within these roles. Dave has always taken an active interest in the community and has been a volunteer with Foresters for over 25 years, an organisation that has social & community programmes for their Members throughout the UK.
He has been a Governor of the Joseph Whitaker Foundation School since 2008 and is currently working part-time for the Nottinghamshire Hospice fund raising team.
His hobbies are Cricket, Quizzes, Bridge, Formula I, Films, Eating out & Socialising.

CHRIS BARNFATHER has been a resident of Ravenshead since 1985 and is married with two daughters. He retired from the Nottinghamshire Police in 2004 after 34 years service whilst holding the rank of Detective Superintendent.
He is the Nottinghamshire County Councillor for Ravenshead, Vice Chairman of the Ravenshead Parish Council and a Ravenshead Ward Member on Gedling Borough Council where he is Chief Whip. Chris is the Chairman of Governors at Joseph Whitaker School, a Governor at Abbey Gates Primary School, and is the Treasurer of the Sherwood Conservative Association,
Secretary CHRISTINE EVANS came to Ravenshead with her husband David and two young children in 1979 and was introduced in to the Conservative Association Branch by Jean Carver who was a founder member.
She has worked with and supported David during his offices within the Ravenshead Branch as Treasurer and Chairman and within the Sherwood Association as Chairman, hosting many of the meetings at her home. Christine has actively assisted with fundraising, canvassing and arranging various functions and also previously acted as temporary secretary.
