B, Private; enrolled for 3 years , mustered Veteran of Campaigns, his unit was a 3 year regiment, discharged ; born 21 March 1842, died 24 January 1930, buried Pocasset Cemetery, Cranston; Wife Annie Jane Ross, born 6 April 1838, died 18 November 1909, Son Nicholas Albert Ross, born 22 January 1872, died 28 March 1894; Last Commander of Arnold Post No. 4, who authorized and deeded Post 4 to Camp 7 in 1926, Commanded Post 4 for 6 ½ terms 1922, 23, 24, 25, 26& 29, he was the last Commander of Post 4, he also assumed command of the Post after the death of Fernando O. Jaques in 1927, Ross led the effort by Post 4 to finalize the legal documents in NYC Court to deed all assets a property of Post 4 to RI SUVCW Elisha Dyer Camp No. 7 in 1926 and turned all matters over to Camp 7 Commander Enoch Hoyt, PDC, the son and nephew of Joseph S. Hoyt and Warner Hoyt, both Veterans of Battery A 1st Reg. RI Volunteer Light Artillery, E. Hoyt died in 1954 and was buried at Locust Grove Cemetery Providence, he assisted Ross in all matters for several years concerning Post 4 and Camp 7, from 1922 to 1930 Ross attended as many Camp 7 meetings at the Old Arsenal on Benefit Street in Providence as he could.
