Storing Your Collection

How do I store my autographs? Simple question. Hard to answer ^.~ Below are a few tips on how to store them and to keep them great and displayable...

  • Store your autographs in plastic sleeves. If you can actually "smell the plastic," don't use that type of sleeve.
  • Take great care when handling your autographs. For instance, make sure that you have clean hands because of sweat, fingerprints etc on them, and pick them up by the edges only.
  • Do not expose autographs to direct sunlight or flourescent lighting. This will cause the ink of most autographs to fade.
  • Try to keep the temperature low. Heat will promote the growth of damaging types of fungus on paper.
  • Try not to change the autographs in any way. Don't tape, fold, cut etc. All these things damage the autograph to make it less desirable to collectors.
  • Don't frame any of your autographs. The images and signature will eventually fade in sunlight and also time.
