Ngee Ann Polytechnic

In 1997, when I finished my 'O' level exams, I returned to USSS to take up relief teaching to kill my six months break. I taught students Maths and Chemistry. As for Physics, I did not teach much as I already forgot most of them. I now realised that being resource teacher is not easy as most students were having discipline problems. I strained my patience and efforts to make sure that students were not lagging behind their works. Only bright students would certainly make a good chance to make a success in their studies. I strongly believe that the students with weaker academic studies should work harder no matter which level they are in as long as they complete their education and grasp the skills for their future jobs.

In the end of February 1997, I received my 'O' level results. I was overjoyed that I passed all six subjects. I received a lot of congratulations from teachers and students. So, I had a place in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. I continued to teach my students until the end of April 1997. Many students especially Sec 3 gals were sad to see me leave as they asked me to stay on until the end of May.

From May to June, guess what I did? Holidaying, attending NP orientations, enjoying Freshmen Orientation Camp and SLEEPING....zzzzzz.....hahaha :)

I had received an outstanding award for striving hard to teach students in USSS at International Day of the Deaf 1997. But I do not think that I deserve it because I really did not know much about teaching standards as I tried to learn to build up my confidence in teaching students although it was exciting to volunteer to teach students.

In 1997, I studied Diploma in Information Technology course in Ngee Ann Polytechnic. :) I also made a lot of hearing friends in Ngee Ann Polytechnic through many activities such as HI! Club. :) During my stay in the polytechnic, I had helped out in HI! Club by taking part in the committee, teaching sign language to interested hearing students and organizing activities to interact with students. I had been elected twice in the committee. First one was from July 1997 to July 1998. Secone one was from July 1998 to August 1999.

Finally, you can visit the homepage of Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

In August 2001, I officially graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with Diploma in Information Technology. Currently, I am working as a web programmer.
