Reploid Wars first started as an e-mail-based game, featuring the creation of characters and the placement of battles across an e-mail system. Then, Reploid Wars: Dominion came by and server post boards changed the world of reploid wars. This game is a fully text-based online RPG, where you use your imagination to think of action and/or adventure for your character. You put your writing capabilities to the test while writing stories, facing an opponent, or participating with other players to reach a goal. IT IS NOT A VIDEO GAME! You MUST have a character in Reploid Wars to play the game. Continue reading to see how you can get one!

-Message Boards-
RWL uses "Post Board Technology"!!! COOL HUH? Well, perhaps it's not that cool, but it's still neat to use. When accepted into Legact, you can post your character's stats (or "bio") on the Profile board. Never used a post board you say? Well, not a problem. When you first arrive, you'll see the heading, which is normally the greeting to the page. Next, you'll notice several 'posts' or subject lines...lined up and down the board. Those would be the posts different characters submitted. You are allowed to read the many different posts on the board, but unless the post involves your character or you, the player, then DO NOT REPLY TO THAT POST!
Using Post Boards:
If you want to post or submit something, there will be an 'button' to click that says "Post an Article". It looks something like this:

After clicking it, you'll end up in another page with several open text areas where you can write your character's name, your e-mail address (B.T.W., ALL E-MAIL ADDRESSES ARE REQUIRED!)and the subject of the post.
Next, you have a big open text-area where you can write whatever you imagined before, anything from a Character Development (CDs are talked about Later) to a message or a response to your opponent's post. Knowing HTML works wonders when writing posts, and especially looks good in front of the GMs and commanding officers. TO LEARN MORE about HTML, go to HTML GOODIES!. Once your finished writing your post, you can submit it by clicking the button that says "Submit Article", and looks something like this:

When your posting a response to a post already on the board, in place of "Submit Article", the button will say "Post A Response". When you respond or when someone else responds to your post, the sophisticated post board will instantly mail an alert to that person's e-mail address, stating that you (the writer) has posted. This will only work if both players TYPE IN THEIR CORRECT E-MAIL ADDRESS! If you decide that you don't want to post or respond to anything, then you can always press the "Return To Articles" button which will send you back to the main post board.

-Learning the system-
To actually play this game on the post boards, you have to learn the lingo or terminology for the posts, and when to post for responses and such. First, the lingo. The following is what you might see in the topic headings and within messages. (YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE THESE HEADINGS WHEN MAKING YOUR POST!):

[Spar]
Placed in the topic heading that involves messages where two or more characters spar.

[CD]
Placed in the topic heading that involves messages where the main character writes about him/ her/itself in a story-type way. This is called a 'Character Development', which earn you experience points depending on how good you the CD is.

[X]
Placed in the topic heading that involves a post where a bunch of characters go on a mission, given by a GM or a character with authority by the leading GM.

RP:
Placed IN THE TEXT AREA where you write your message in, BEFORE you actually write your message, to state that what you are writing is 'Role-Playing'.

NRP:
Placed IN THE TEXT AREA where you write your post in, BEFORE you actually write your message, to state that what you are writing is 'NON Role-Playing' or some sort of personal message.

(N/T)
Placed in the topic heading AFTER you write the topic. This is to distinguish that you have no message and whatever is in the topic heading is what you want to say.

When writing messages, remember that timing is everything. No one is going to enjoy waiting days and days for someone to respond to something, nor do the GMs want to find out that a character is missing 2 days after he/she left. When writing a response to someone's message, BE AS PROMPT AS POSSIBLE, but don't keep writing to the point where others aren't given any time to post. Be fair.

-Gaining Experience-
Your character earns experience points either by participating in missions or writing character developments. The more experience points your character receives the higher the rank goes. The higher the rank, the stronger your character becomes.

-Credits and Store-
Credits is just like possessing money. With credits, your character can buy store weapons and items, from a simple beam saber to a ride armor. Your character can ONLY RECEIVE MONEY BY PARTICIPATING IN A MISSION. However, you get 2000 credits to start off with. And remember, each weapon and item is counted as a primary or special weapon in your character statistics.

Character Development- in a character development, an Administrator rates your CD on quality and length. Depending on how good the plot, characters, conflict, and etc. the more experience points are given to you for your work.

Missions- to participate in a mission, you simply have to wait until one comes up. Missions will most likely be hosted by the HGM or an administrator, unless said otherwise. The one hosting the mission will
-Basics-
1.NO PERSONAL MESSAGES- THE HGM & ADMIN. HATE one line or word messages...that's what IM or e-mail is for, or you can even send them a private message. If you have something to say, use N/T, but use that as least as possible.
2. FOLLOW ORDERS- the HGM or administrators usually post things on the boards that everyone should read, even if the subject says it's for someone else. People that don't follow orders can either face the HGM or administrators, which is bad news.
3. DO NOT COPY STATS/BIOS- ESPECIALLY stats that have something related to Dragon Ball Z, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Star Wars, movies or any other games and etc. THIS IS A MEGA MAN X RELATED GAME! Only use abilities from those games...by theme only, meaning be original!
4. NO GOD-MODING- Meaning, no killing your opponent in one post and surviving unreal predicaments. If you get shot in one post, don't alter what has already happened to say your character has miraculously been untouched. Be realistic... seriously. Also, no knowing any other super strong character; you can't know Sigma, any of the X-hunters, Dr.Doppler, the General, Megaman X, Zero, etc. That is known as 'cheating', unless the Head Game Master (HGM) accepts it.

Summary for Rules:
Spars are competition's between characters. A mission is when a group of characters complete an objective together; earns you credits. A CD is a story with your own character/s; earns you experience. To participate in a mission, for the most part you need to be on a squad. Buy store accessories when you collect the neccessary amount of money. And follow the basics at all times.
