|| WHAT IS THE INDIANA HISTORICAL REENACTING ASSOCIATION?

Basically, our group is unlike the rest of the WW II reenactors' groups out there. We do not have the usual memberships and dues... we exist solely as a "board", headed by property owner Neal Haskell. The IHRA exists solely for the purpose of putting on quality reenacting events (right now only at the Rensselaer site). We are currently working with the European Theatre of Operations (ETO), Inc for extra insurance coverage.

Our mission statement:
||To provide the most realistic (but safe) reenacting events, integrating living-history with the tactical aspect when possible. Currently, we are switching to staging two "general attendance" battles (one Eastern, one Western front) a year, with at least two more exclusive, historically-based events in between (like our February 2002 "Winter War" event). Public/educational programs are also in the works.

||To remain strictly NON-PROFIT; any money taken in above event budget will go back into the event's funds. These funds will be used for later site projects, such as building bunkers, financing more radio equipment, etc. We always have a large chunk have to come out for expenses, such as port-o-lets, pyrotechnics, and food.

||We do NOT support reenacting units! I've received a lot of e-mails in the past regarding "joining", which we simply do not do. Again, the IHRA exists only to run these battles at Neal's farm. There are already at least 3 major historical societies in our area that perform this task, and we welcome any established society. Check the links page for a list of societies and units to join (you MUST be a member of a unit in order to participate).
