Breathing problems

  • For wheezing: Take tsp turmeric powder daily.
  • Fennel to ease asthma. Put 1 tsp in a pot of water, boil, and drink the water when warm.
  • For bronchitis: eucalyptus or sandal inhalant (steam inhalation, see colds); lots of fluids, steam, hot towels to chest, avoid dust and smoke, use a humidifier, do regular exercise and breathing
  • Respiratory infections: take echinacea. Said ot stimulate immune system and increase effectiveness of white blood cells. Don't use if you have an autoimmune disease. Take no longer than 8 weeks, 2-3 capsules per day or 15-20 drops of tincture in half a glass of water, 4-5 times a day.
  • Asthma and breathing problems for some people may be due to allergy. Allergies may be certain pollens, oil, dust, etc. Cut out the suspects and see if symptoms disappear. Then reintroduce one by one to see which product is the cause.
  • Do breathing exercises: sit cross-legged on the floor, back straight. Breathe in and out slowly, counting to 5 for each breath, allowing your diaphragm to expand as you breathe in and contract as you breathe out. Breathe through your nose only. Now place a finger on one nostril, breathe in through the other. Place finger on the other nostril and breathe out through the now open one. Continue 10 times, then alternate sides.
  • Clear nasal passages: breathe out sharply through the nose, thrusting stomach outwards. Keep a tissue handy.
  • When sleeping, keep head raised above the rest of the body to allow proper drainage and clear nasal passages. You may also sleep on your side to help this. Do not cover head with sheets or blanket - this will stuff up your nose and throat and increase reactions.
