Prevention is an important part of good health. It is always better to prevent a disease from occurring in the first place than to try to cure it once you have it. There are several ways to achieve this:
- Practice good habits. Eat and sleep at regular times, eat healthily. This means avoiding excess of sugars and fats, eating a variety fruits and vegetables. Many of these (garlic, tomatoes, onions, and others) have vital disease-fighting abilities.
- Drink lots of water. Keeping hydrated is great for prevention of many illnesses. Water also helps flush toxins out of your body which may accumulate and cause illness. Drink at least 8 8oz. glasses a day.
- Take a vitamin. Getting enough Vitamin C, calcium, B vitamins, and other vitamins is crucial to warding off many diseases.
- Eat several hours before bedtime and get enough sleep.
- Take a chill pill - Reduce stress. Stress is known to weaken your immune system, so relax and you'll be stronger.
