How to wear a tshirt #17 Well, there's the ordinary, slip-on-the-old-tee way to wear a tee, and then there's the edgy, new, fashionable way to wear it. You know, the ways you wouldn't expect someone to wear a tshirt, like inside out. Inside out? Well, almost. The trick is to make it look like it's not.
Materials:
tshirt
scissors
needle and thread or sewing machine
safety pin
You can do this one of two ways:
A. The Easy Way
1. Turn the tshirt inside out.
2. Cut off the tag so it cannot be seen. Get out the extra bits with a safety pin.
3. Fold the arms under until you cannot see the folded seam and hem. This will keep the arms looking neat.
4. Fold the bottom hem up one fold (inside) and hem. This will keep the bottom neat.
5. Finally, only the arm, shoulder, and side seams look unfinished, while the arms and the bottom look neat. Your tshirt appears inside out on first glance only. For further (fake) authenticity, reattach the tag on the new inside of the
shirt.
B. The Sophisticated Way
1. To make a real inside-out tshirt, you will have to undo all the seams of the tshirt except the ones that hold the arms in a tube.
2. Sew the front and back pieces together, wrong sides together. Do not turn out. Now all the seams are turned out, but the neck and bottom hem are intact and neat, and the tag is still inside.
3. Undo the seams along the arms. Sew them back together along the same line, but with the edges outward. The arms also look inside out, but their hems do not.
4. Reattach the arms, leaving all the edges facing outward.
5. Now your tshirt looks inside out with the shoulders, arms, arm seams, and sides "inside out" but the arm and bottom hems and neck as usual.
All done! People will certainly do a double-take.
