How to wear a tshirt #18 A while ago (see Winter 2005 we showed you how to WEAR a tshirt a number of different ways. Not enough? Here are more!
Materials:
a classic tshirt that fits well
brooches and pins
artificial flowers
safety pins
fabric ribbon
Idea 1: Show off sexy shoulders. Show them off by using a piece of ribbon or matching brooches to cinch up the sleeves, through the neck, and tie in a knot or bow. You could also cut off the sleeves to show some arm.
Idea 2: Create decolletage. Pull the neck of a classic tshirt downward with a pretty brooch. Pinch the neck and chest together to make a gathered look, then pin (use a safety pin to hold first if your brooch is too delicate). It creates a flattering vshape, but be sure to pull more from the top than the bottom to prevent an unsightly bottom hem. Variation: make the V asymmetrical.
Idea 3: Gather 'round. Pull the tshirt in front to gather at the chest. Create gathers on both sides and use a pretty flower pin to hold them snug and in place. Good for flat chests! Make sure the back of the tshirt is still neat. Variation: gather at the side at the bustline instead.
Idea 4: Get tied down. Use a long piece of ribbon to wrap crisscross around your body and tie at the back of the waist. Variation: pin at the neck with a brooch first before wrapping (to create a halter-like effect). Adds a new twist to a plain old tee.
Idea 5: Random pickins. Gather a bunch of fake flowers and sprinkle them over your tshirt - edges of sleeves, along the shoulder. Pin in place and you're a walking garden. Variation: do the same with a set of similar pins.
