Comfort Clothes Last issue's fashion fixer discussed comfort clothes briefly. Yes, they are great for your I-feel-fat-and-ugly days. But they are also clothes you should own for your own comfort. Like macaroni and cheese or peanut butter jelly sandwiches, they are things that allow you to be comfortable with yourself and let you relax. When you're wearing them, you feel safe and secure. But you can also look terrific.

The perfect comfort item is a pair of jeans. The more faded and worn and lived-in the better. They will fit you well. They will hold up your butt miraculously. They will conform to your body and know it so well after all these years. These are not your baggy jeans, they are your "I'm gorgeous and sinfully comfortable at the same time" jeans. If you don't have them, find some and wear them often.

You also need a great sweater. It will fit you well, and be a little long in the sleeve, so that you can subtly keep your hands warm inside the sleeves. It will not be huge, with shoulder that hit at your elbows and a hem at your knees. No, no, it will loosely skim your curves and hit at the waist or hip and feel delicious.

Aside from these are socks. Warm, cozy, slipper socks. They allow you to pad around the house without getting grimy on the bottom. They keep your toes toasty but won't slip.

And then, the tshirt. This is the tshirt that you could wear to a Hanes or Levi's ad. It's typically white, but any color will do. It is well-washed and silky soft. It doesn't shrink anymore, just has those bumps in the right places where it fits you best.

Finish with a pair of sweatpants. Or yoga pants. Any really comfortable pants with a drawstring. They're preferably fleece or terry inside, so they feel soft. They also skim your legs and don't have elastic anywhere. The hem is straight or flared, so you could wear it outside.

Top it all off with a mug of your favorite drink - cocoa, tea, coffee, beer. Now, lounge around and do nothing.
