PSYCHOLOGY:

The Dwarves are a reclusive race, and rarely seen. They prefer to do their marketing through trusted human brokers, or not at all. Usually this trust is based purely on a generational value, as far as humans go. Many rich human families, particularly in Gardjief, have been raised from turnip farmers to grand merchants simply because the True Dwarves trust their family. (One wrong generational misdealing, however, will terminate the relationship, and the offending family will like never here from their former allies again.

As individuals, Dwarves vary widely. Some prefer the hearth and home of their ancient mountain cities, while others seek out human companions, and even elven ones. That which unites them is their one king of all their tribes, the Sullen King.

GOVERNMENT:

All True Dwarves bow to the One King. He is the eldest of Dwarves from when the land was young, and he is the only one who remembers The Truth. The Truth may only be known by the Sullen King - because it is too heavy a burden for the race. The One King alone holds that burden, and with that burden the knowledge of their origination.

When the Sullen King is near his deathbed, he will choose his successor, and the burden shall pass to him. No Dwarf envies his King - because his task is so terribly sorrowful.

BRIEF HISTORY:

The Dwarves have a good idea of where they come from, though there is much speculation amongst them. In a way, it is Sectarianism under a monarchy. Many Dwarves believe many different things, and all speculate on their origins. Their different beliefs will be detailed in the
RELIGIONS DOCUMENT. Link does not yet work.
