Because the immune systems are compromised, people with HIV often need to be protected from non-infected individuals who can and do carry opportunistic diseases. These opportunistic diseases can spell doom for HIV infected people.
People with HIV-AIDS have very special health problems. Our entire facility is kept as clean and sanitary as humanly possible to minimize the risk of contact and infection. Our clients often have special nutritional requirements. We work with the client and primary care physician to provide the best nutritional program possible.
There is still fear of, and prejudice against HIV+ people. The HIV Food Bank provides a safe place for sufferers of HIV-AIDS to receive confidential services free from prejudice and harassment.
