On any Sunday afternoon, you can ride the subway line to Yoyogi-uerha and step out of the dark tunnel into the bright light of day.  What you will first witness, however, will take you slightly aback.  There's really no one word to describe the Japanese youth which masquerades itself on what is universally a day off from the rank-and-file world of Japan; "freaks", "weirdos", "oddballs"...you name it, they've probably been called it.
The sun peeks through the dense shield of trees in the main plaza of Yoyogi Park, where fantasy-laden teens mingle with the "common folk."
