Holy Crap!
It's 2001!
At the dawn of a new millennium, it's good to see Tokyo knows how to ring in the new year...

| Being the first major city in the world to ring in the new year, as well as the new millennium, Tokyo was alive and ready to party at the places I went for new year's celebrations. My friend Julie Shourds and I started the evening with dinner and a few drinks at the New Sanno Hotel. The Sanno is a hotel maintained by the Navy in downtown Tokyo as an affordable option for military folks and their families. They have a decent bar, and the strategy most people use is they come here first, get tanked at reasonable prices, then go to the big bar district Roppongi to finish the job off with only a few drinks (the sum total of those couple drinks, incidentally, is usually about the same as the many drinks purchased at the Sanno). | ||
