Billy Bob Thornton directed this film. June was an especially warm month, most everybody kept in the shade while we filmed during the day. There were 4 days of filming at the old NM state pen. It was made to look like a 1940's Mexican prison. Local casting agencies, notably Rainbow Casting, did their best to provide the scruffiest folks as prisoners. The day filming consisted of a damn scary fight between Henry Thomas & 'Slasher Estevan' (Local actor Clark Sanchez) The night shooting consisted of the fight scene in the chowhall between Matt Damon & an assassin. (Los Angeles stuntman Gilberto Rosales) Mr. Thornton was especially gracious & generous with his time & consideration to his cast, extras & crew. Thank you Mr. Thornton, for a great time! |
