Artist's Statement

They sometimes call me an emerging artist. I feel more like a submerged artist.

Ive had enough of being in the cave. I m sick of smelling the guano. I m tired of the darkness. It s time I follow the light and step into the sunshine!

Everybody was something else before they were something.

If I had my choice, if not for my staggering responsibilities, I would just paint and paint and paint everyday. But alas!

Why? I love creating not just visually but sensually memorable art that reflect my personal sense of style. I have a style? Ahh, I believe so. It is a style honed sharply by my desire to show appreciation, to celebrate just being alive, to be happy, to translate painful health problems into works of art.

"Artists are the least greedy people in the world. They cannot function without support. Every culture since time immemorial has supported its creative heritage" - Leon Uris

All I wish for is a year, just one year when all I ll do is paint and paint and paint. My mind, hands and heart are just about to explode with ideas I d like to paint but I have no time i have to earn a living. (After all, I have 3 beautiful kids who keep me on my toes). And the boys, my God they never seem to stop eating! Someday maybe, before the aneurysm or the stroke or the hypertension or just the frustration of not being able to paint -- does me in.

People talk about the fine line between fine art and commercial art. There should not be any line. They should both be judged by its efffectiveness, it's beauty, craftmanship and how it touches the heart.

If you like any of my paintings you can buy them, however I did not put a price on them. I believe each and every person should have at least one piece of original art. My goal is to make sure that 98% of the population can afford my art, not just the top 2%.

So MAKE ME AN OFFER! A reasonable offer. Or make up a story about the painting. If I like your story, I'll put it on the website or I might even give it to you for free_______

Thanks to Ann Baldwin for teaching me collage!

Thanks to the Vallejo Artist Guild, especially the board members.

Thanks to Dan Robieski.

Yeah right_____

I walk into an expensive gallery with my portfolio. March into the curatorÕs office without a word and thrust my portfolio at him. I never utter a single word____ not even when he agrees to display my work. He thinks I am mute. After I sell my first painting Š then I will speak. He would then ask me, " How come you never spoke before?" Then I will reply, "I wanted my art to speak for itself!"

-----sounds like a movie script, in real life, I will probably be thrown out.
