Jewel- Aka Fatty Ratty

BIO
Name: RnRR Jewel of JS
Date of Birth: February 28, 2003
Date of Adoption: August 14, 2004
Variety: Blue Berkshire
Sex: Female
Favorite: Being a couch (or bus) potato.

Jewel is the escape artist. Recently during an open cage event, I was cleaning in another room. Jewel had NEVER shown much interest in coming out of her cage, and Cricket is content to play upon her shelf. I noticed the dog going nuts in the bedroom. I went in and sure enough Jewel was missing. Of course all I had to do was look where the dog was sniffing. Jewel was under the bed. After rescuing her and gently scolding her, I put her back. I closed the cage up and went back to cleaning.

Later I heard a loud bang. I figured it to be the cats knocking something over. . . Later I noticed the cage open. This time one of the cats was investigating a spot in the dirty laundry. You guessed it Jewel. Now I actually close and double latch the cage for the safety of Jewel.

Jewel was another one of my rescues. Her previous owner gave her up. She has had fairly good health with the exception of slightly overgrown teeth. Nothing an experienced person like me could not handle. A quick trim and now she can manage them again. Very lazy and content to move only for the food bowl and for open cage time. My fatty ratty!
