| Adding
onto a
house
presents
its own set of challenges. We listen to the goals of the client,
photograph, and measure the structure to establish a clear understanding
of the existing conditions. Since every house has its own architectural
style, we strive to produce sympathetic additions that maintain
the integrity of the home to enhance its character. Even modest
changes, such as adding a porch, can have a dramatic impact
on the house's function. The true test of any design, however,
is livability. It is rewarding to get positive feedback from
clients after a project is completed. |

This
project was initiated due to damage from
Hurricane Fran. Minor changes to the interior
of the house, along with adding a screened
porch and a two-level deck greatly improve
the traffic flow and give ample outdoor
spaces for entertaining.

By
adding 603 sq. ft. to this Craftsman style
home and renovating the kitchen, we were
able to satisfy the needs of a growing
family. The addition's traditional detailing
blends seamlessly
with
the existing house.

A
family room and master suite were added
to the Tudor style house. Updating the
interior, in addition to new landscaping,
completed the project. Exterior materials
were carefully matched to complement the
home and to fit the character of this
older neighborhood.
