Age Nationals April 2004
During April the club attended the 2004 Age Nationals in Sydney. Two of our
young divers, Caitlin Lyons and Sansanee Lagerway, both qualified on 1 Metre,
3 Metre and Platform in the 12/13 age groups.
Head Coach Natalie Billiard along with Alan & Di Smith were very
happy with the way the girls dived in this very popular age group.
The first event the girls competed in was the 3 Metre springboard event,
in which there were 26 competitors with Caitlin finishing 6th and Sansanee 9th.
The next day was the 1 Metre event in which there were 36 competitors,
Sansanee finished with a Silver medal. Caitlin was not at her best with this
event and finished 16th.
The final day the girls competed in the platform event, again Sansanee dived
very well, and was always in the top 5 during this event. She again finished
with the Silver medal from the 15 competitors.
Caitlin was competitive early but dropped a dive late in her list costing her
dearly and she finished the competition in 8th place. |
