HISTORY

R.A.P.S Diving Club (Redlands Amateur Platform and Springboard) was established by Natalie Billiard (nee Smith) in 1997.

R.A.P.S is proudly the longest affiliated Diving Club registered with Diving Queensland. We have produced many National medalists and have had divers awarded �Diver of the Year� in 2006, 2007 & 2008.

We have been awarded the Trophy for Best Club in Australia at the Age Nationals in 2005, runner up in 2006 and �Outstanding Club of the Year in 2007�.

We now have two of our members; Ashley de Muelenaere and Taneka Kovchenko, whom have been selected as members of the QAS(Queensland Academy of Sport), and have won medals at many National Competitions.

We also have three selected divers in the Diving Australia�s TID program. Maddie Phillips, Beth Nicolson and Keelan Bilton-Philp. These divers all started in our �Learn to Diver� club, and have become medalists at the recent National Championships in Hobart.

�Divers of the Year� awards have been presented to Ashley de Muelenaere, Bridgette Squires, Caitlin Lyons and Marcus Gangell.

AAScott Robertson is a current member of the AIS (Australian Institute of Sport)

AAWe have various Diving Programs for all ages.

Tadpoles Ages 4 to 7 to cater for the little ones! (Part of our Learn to Dive Program)

Platypus Ages 8 to 12 to cater for the pre teens! (Part of our Learn to Dive Program)

Learn to Dive is for anyone wishing to participate, no experience necessary

Masters Ages 19+ (Part of our Learn to Dive Program)

Development Squad this is for divers with the potential to move to an Elite Squad to prime for State and National competitions.

R.A.P.S Elite Squad this is for competitive divers at State and National Levels.

With our Elite Squad Program we cater for trampolinists, gymnasts and tumblers.

Our club encourages a friendly social atmosphere with the focus on happy and healthy athletes, who can work at their own pace, whether you wish to dive for fun or in a competitive stream.
