| Nick Devry is a Detective on loan to the Murfreesboro Police Department. Originally from Los Angeles, where he has been a homicide and a drug enforcement detective. Nick was sent to Murfreesboro to head up a Task Force to help the City with it's growing gang problem. At first Nick was unhappy with his assignment - being sent to what he considered a "...backhills little town in the middle of nowhere", assuming that it was some sort of departmental punishment, feeling (correctly) that his Captain was jealous of him. |

| Eventually though, Devry, to his surprise, began to like it in The Boro. He's beginning to enjoy the more layed back, relaxed attitude of the town. And has recently become | ||||||||
| aware of a rather attractive Officer, Stephanie Branch. Impressed with her abilities as an officer, he has been unofficially tuturing her toward becoming a Detective. His first major case was a bit of a stumper. A well liked and respected member of the local College, Professor Wingate was found ripped apart. A few weeks before, the Professor had been involved with some kind of commotion at the College (fire alarms had been pulled and by-standers claimed to have heard gunshots) and had not been seen until his body was discovered. The body was freshly killed and the warehouse he was staying in was well furbished with lots of technical toys and computers. It's clear that the Professor had survived whatever happened on campus and had went into hiding. Apparently not well enough! While investigating, Devry discovered that the Professor's Teaching Assistant - a student named Breanna had also went missing. He soon learned that Stephanie knew the Assistant, and is coming to realize that something weird is happening. Utilizing all his contacts in Los Angeles, Devry started to suspect that the Government was involved. Having witnessed government wetworks in action before, Devry become concerned with the direction the case was taking. Sure enough, a few weeks later, in a confusing bit of cross jurisdiction with Metro Nashville's Police Department, Officer Stephanie Branch, and a government agency he never caught the name of, the Wingate case was simply closed by Captain Mitchell, Nicks direct supervisor. Originally loaned to Murfreesboro as a Vice Detective, Nick was next assigned to an on-going serial killer case. This case was starting to capture national headlines and Captain Mitchell decided to utilize Nicks expertise even if it caused problems with the detective originally assigned to the case. By this point, Steph was training to become a detective with Nick and the two of them had started a relationship. Again, Steph was instrumental in stopping the murders, but the case seemed to be closed a bit earlier than Nick was used too. Although his assignment to Murfreesboro has been completed, Nick has stayed a little longer, telling his L.A Captain he still has a little more work to do. Personally, the Captain would be fine with him staying forever and has allowed him to stay for awhile longer, however fairly soon Devry is going to have to make a decision - The Boro where he is starting to become comfortable - away from work anyway, or Los Angeles, Home. Nick was attacked and captured by wendigo as a sacrifice to the Illiogoir. Due to his greater than average strength and constitution he was to become the vessel for the rebirth of the Great Toad Creature. However, Steph and the Boro heroes were able to rescue him in time. With Astrid sacrificing herself to ensure the destruction of the demon. Although he came through the ordeal in one piece, Nick was disturbed by the realization that the supernatural exists. He has decided that he can no longer deal with Murfreesboro and moved back to L.A; ". . .where there aren't any demons". |
