Description:
Tasmania was my birthplace, and I have lived here all of my life. My home is in a pretty nice location, not far from the beach, and we get a decent view of the river too, due to the fact that we live on the side of a hill. We have a swimming pool in our backyard which comes in to play during the summertime, and during the winter it gets all these fucking millipedes in it. We also have a little dog in the family, his name is Mitch and he is a Jack Russel cross Corgie, he has a glamorous snout and a red rocket.
At our local Sports Centre I have a basketball team with some friends called the 'Red Rockets' named proudly after my dogs penis, i'm sure he is honored. I'm not very good at the sport but I have a crack, last season we made the Grand Final somehow, we lost badly (or very well actually), but we went to the pub anyway. I play as a Guard because I'm not the tallest man in the world and generally have an alright jump shot on me, and every now and then I have an effective drive too. I try to base my game on my favourite NBA player, Gary Payton.
I have been lucky enough to be able to travel to some pretty nice locations around the world recently and in the past, until this year (2001) I had not been outside of Australia, but in July I had the opportunity to go to Singapore, England and France. My visit to Singapore was very brief, it was just a stopoff on the way to England but we did have time to admire the tropical weather (40+ degrees) and the electrical storms that must go almost non-stop. The views from the plane over Malaysia were quite amazing, with huge tropical islands covered in forests, with vertical grey cliffs down one side rising out of milky blue water (some may say it looked very inviting).
England was pretty nice, I stayed in London with my sister, who has been living there for the past year, and has just bought a house on the outskirts of the city. She is renovating her house and it made life slightly difficult for us, but we couldn't complain, it was free. Her house was a simple Tube ride from Islington station into the main city, it took like less than 5 minutes, very easy. Once inside the city we saw, and visited just about every point of interest possible, including Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Tower of London, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, 10 Downing Street and every other sight that is accessable. In England we also did a fair bit of travelling, from the Cotswolds to Cornwell, which were both good, but didn't really compare to what we did at Sheffield just above Derby, Alton Towers. Alton Towers is a world famous Theme Park, well known for its record setting rides, including the first ever vertical drop rollercoaster, Oblivion, and one that claims to be the most intense ride in the world, Nemisis, which is a 'Hanging' rollercoaster that goes inverted about 5 times and has an average speed of about 60km after the drop, it was pretty crazy.
France was definately my favourite place I visited by far, we took the Eurostar from Waterloo Station in London, and the weather was great which really brings out the best in their Parisian women. We stayed in the center of Paris and the only time we left the city during the 10 days we were there was to go to Versailles and Disneyland Paris which was a simple 40 minute train ride from inside the city. We managed to cover just about every inch of Paris with a shitload of walking, and a little bit of Metro assistance. The sights I visited in Paris include the famous places like the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur, Arc De Triomphe and of course a walk up the Champs Elysee, The smaller things we saw were the memorial where Princess Diana was killed and all the artists that come out on Sundays.
