History Africa
has always been proud of it's noble
history. Many non religious as religious
people widely believed that human life began in Africa about 5 million and
8 million years ago. The continent witnessed of the world's first large scale
civilizations, the Egyptian empire that formed more than 5000 years ago.
The continent remained mostly rural, despite growth of industrial cities in the
second half of the 20th century. Africa's economy is the least advanced of any
continent because surprisingly enough, agriculture is still the main job.
Devastating outbreaks of disease seem to be very common, due to poor
roads and the lack of medical facilities. Africa is well off in terms of natural
resources because of its economic base, and in addition, many African nations
still depend on help from foreign countries or trade of resources, to survive
economically without owing debts continuously. Culturally,
Africans are probably the most different of any continent's people, with
thousands of ethnic groups and more than 1000 different languages spoken. In
this way, African national identity is not as strong as other racial or social
groups with good relationships. Black Africans make up the majority of the
Africa's population, but there are also large numbers of Arabs, Asians,
Europeans, and Berbers. Many ethnic communities follow rural cultures in which
the foods, religions, dress, tribal roles, and daily life have remained similar
for hundreds of years, but now, modern cities featuring skyscrapers
and shopping outlets appear, with Western fashion and a mix of cultural
influences. Music, art, and literature has always been important and distinctive
throughout Africa, although this has influenced writers, soloists and artists
all over the world.
I wonder what the future will bring for Africa..
