Welcome to
Africa, the second largest continent in the world with over 642 million
people living there, but surprisingly the length of coastlines compared
to the country is less than that of any other continent. This rather
native website investigates the culture, sights, sounds and lifestyles
of average African people, also including pictures,
a guest book to have your say and links to other related websites. Hi I'm
Radhika Jadavji the creator of this rather exciting yet inspiring
website about the joys of Africa, where my mum, grandma and cousins came
from. Anyway, after the nation's successful bid to host Olympics 2000
was thwarted by Sydney in Australia, the country has continued to grow
as Africa covers one fifth of the worlds surface and by 2050 (long time
to go!) it's estimated that nearly a quarter of the worlds population
will be in Africa. This is due to better medical facilities after the
war, decrease in death rate, and huge populations habiting the coast and
mainly Nigeria. Obviously, the Sahara and Kalahari deserts including
Mount Kilimanjaro cover huge areas of inhabited land where the sheer
beauty of the country is shown. If you like culture, there are thousands
of ethnic groups with more than a thousand languages, different types of
food, religion, dress and tribal roles, although black Africans make up
the majority of the population.
Be prepared for the cultural
side of Africa, where we meet
people from religions
such as Hinduism,
