Scribbles on the Wall

BACK

The following poems are from a period dating from 1985 through today and I will put the dates on them if at all possible. They range from the mushy to the interesting and wonderful. Some will be dedicated and some will be titled, others are just bits and pieces that came to me and I have put them here. I hope you like them and they make you smile or feel happy or they might make you feel sad. I have put them here for my daughter and family to see and also for those of you interested to read.

LOVE

Richly voiced without a word,
Heard throughout in deep accord,
Lightly beating is my heart,
Deeply felt throughout my art.
Petals soft as lovers sighs,
Dark as tears in sad goodbyes,
Love is all and none of these,
Whatever you make of it,
Whatso'er you please.

This next poem was written to my daughter while I was pregnant with her and thinking about what the future held. I loved her then and love her now and will love her till the day she and I both pass away. I hope as the poem says to see her again someday soon. And oh I miss her so.

My Unborn Child

Good morning my little darling
Are you in there smiling
Or with your toes do play?
Your only two months old
And already I do know
That you're already quiet alive
The doctor told me so.
And I can't wait till you arrive.
Your little body started to form
The day you were concieved
From that day to this fine morn
It is hard to be believed
You have a little body with eyes and hands and feet
Your little fingers grasp, your eyes are closed in sleep
Your little feet move, your tiny heart does beat
And in my memory that sound I'll always keep.
I'll see you soon, and hold you near,
I'll love you always to the end,
You'll be my downyheaded little dear,
My unborn child, my friend.

Through time we march
The minutes ticking by
In time we grow old
And eventually die
Our spirit survives
And our memory lives
In the many lives
Of our relatives
