My Favorite Things

I once said I would never write a page like this. One in which you list all the favorite things you like and dislike. No however I am finding it necessary as I want my daughter to know as much about me as I can supply via this page. So I am going to give this in as great of detail as possible.

Animals

To start off with I like animals and have had numerous cats in my life as well as several dogs, some fish, and a few rodents(gerbils, hamsters, etc.) Presently I have a cat named Artemis. Artemis is around 8 years old. She is small with gray plush fur brushed with minute tousches of cream. She has gold eyes and is very, very sweet. Her voice is a scratchy meow, and she sounds like a cougar cub.

I also have three rats. The two littlest are Templeton and Anonymous and they are black and white rats. We, my roomates and I, think they are braindamaged(grin)as they have taken to bouncing and hitting their heads repeatedly against the top of the aquarium lid. They apparently noticed it moved when they did this the first time, but have failed to notice that it is not moving any longer. (A heavy weight was added to the lid). They enjoy sitting on your shoulder and they get baths.

Last but by no means least is Peanut. Peanut is a large rat. he is gray and incredibly sweet, he has never bitten anyone to date. He gets fed table scraps, rat food, water, and veggies. he loves turnips(Thanks to Tracy my roomate)and mashed potatoes. He has a leash(a ferret leash, but we are'nt going to tell him that, grin) and has gone on wwalks before. peanut is almost as large as Artemis. If Peanut is out Art will walk by, sniff him, snort as if to say 'isn't worth it' and walk away. Peanut is almost 2 years old now. He was saved from being spider food as a baby (one of my roomates had a tarantula as a pet and it ate bugs and stuff)

Those are the pets I have right now though I want to get a fish either a beta (siamese fighting fish) or a goldfish.

I like all animals though I have always had a special love of horses. When I was little I wanted to have one and tried to work it out where I coud have it in the backyard. I drew horses, read books on horses, collected horse models ie Breyer animal creations and wanted to ride them. My mom said I was horse crazy and tried to break me of it getting me a job of mucking stalls. I outlasted her on that one and still love horses. I still have my horse collection and will have to show it to you some time.

I also love big cats; lions, tigers, cheetahs, cougars and the like. Ihave goten to pet a cougar at a convention in Florida. I think they should be free and it saddens me that so very few are left.

My other really big love is raptors; hawks, falcons, eagles and I also like the large crows and ravens. There is just something about watching them effortlessly soar through the sky that takes my breath away.

On Foods

Okay lets get something straight here, I will eat just about anything.

I love sushi especially salmon, tuna, and scallops.

I love a good pot roast with tons of carrots, onions, and some potatoes as it reminds me of my grandmother who made the greatest pot roast and fried chicken ever.

Lobster, shrimp and crawfish are all equally wonderful.

Steak usually rare, I am NOT a vegetarian. I do love vegetables though especially carrots. Brussell sprouts and broccoli, cauliflower, rasishes, and onions. I also like sour and salty things and I adore vinegar, which I will eat on a big bowl of parsley. Oh and I love salads. Marinated artichoke hearts and hearts of palm in the salad with tomatoes...yummy.

My favorite fruits are strawberries and raspberries. I used to sit in my grandads garden between the raspberry bushes and the strawberry plants and eat berries till I burst. I like the tart and or sour apples like granny smith or macintosh, and love cinnamon crisp and apple pie.

I also like mushrooms and especially like portabello mushrooms. I enjoy really well made mushroom soup.

My favorite candy is Godiva chocolates raspberry truffles, though the raspberry cordials are equally as good. I also like Lindt chocolates also raspberry filled.

My favorite ice cream actually sorbet and is again raspberry. I also like chocolate, and Ben and Jerrys lemon sorbet.

Favorite cookies include but not limited to...devils food, chocolate walnut chip, chocolate chip, vienna fingers, and vanilla wafers.

Other things I would like to try include flowers in my salads and such, the edible kinds like violets and that.

Of odd foods I have eaten the following: Elk, venison, both of which are okay but still prefer steak. Have tried frog legs (which, yes taste sort of like chicken). Duck is okay but is greasy, and goose is okay but kind of dry. And I have eaten alligator tail in Austin Texas at Papa Deaux's. Those are all the things I have tried.

I will NOT eat or try bugs of any sort or snake. Which brings me to the foods I do not like. I can't stand cooked spinach or ochra (ie boiled) as when you cook them they turn into this semblance of swamp muck. I hate cow liver, eating this is NOT an option. I also do not like asparagus, blueberries, and this stuff from australia that looks like petroleum jelly and is called veggamite.

Now as for drinks. I like milk only if it is ice cold or with chocolate chip/walnut cookies. I like chocolate milkshakes really thick. My favorite drink is coca cola and I drink way too much of it.

Well that does it for food for the most part there are other things but those are the majority of what I like.

Favorite Colors

My favorite colors are blue and green and any combination of the two colors. I also like red and purple. I like black and white, silver and gold. Cannot wear yellow or orange, they make me look jaundiced, thought the colors are okay.

Clothes

In clothing a lot of what I wear if black, simply due to the fact that black goes with everything. I prefer clothes that are comfortable and somewhat loose fitting.

I like jeans but not skin tight ones, I prefer to breathe. I also like nice looking sweats.

I do have odd clothing as well, among them leather boots (thigh highs), a vinyl bustier, and when I can get them a leather corset, pair of pants, and a leather jacket.

I like jewelry and but due to being alergic to most metals do not wear a lot of it. I have on particular necklace made by a friend of mine from a long time agao that I wear all the time. It is a medicine bag of black leather with a quartz crystl on it with a few keepsakes in it.
