Bigger Quilts

These are some of the larger quilts I have made - although by normal standards, most of these really aren't large quilts at all (the largest is a small bed quilt!)

Laugh Kookaburra, Laugh

A Chook Shed pattern, hand appliquéd, machine quilted.

My Country Garden

When life gives you manure, make a quilt!  This was my challenge quilt for the 2003 guild show.

Fractured Sky I

My own design in response to the January 18 bushfires in Canberra. I dyed all the fabric for this quilt.

Mary Jane

This quilt took me about 4 hours to make the top, and another hour (on another weekend) to finish the quilting. The pattern comes from quilting.about.com.

Adirondack

This is a whole cloth quilt measuring 95cm by 95cm.  It took me about 4 months to hand quilt, and weas finished in Sept 2002.  I got the pattern from Quilters Companion no.3 and adapted the centre.

Fall table runner

I made this in a day as part of the AOL fall online sew in in August 2002. Used from fabric in my stash, and even the batting is recycled - it's viscose felt I had ruined by washing it!

Hearts and Bears

The hearts in this quilt were mostly from a Quilting Down Under Valentine's Day Swap held in 2001.  I made a further 10 blocks in different colours to get away from the "redness" of the quilt.  The sashing strips were country charm squares I had.  The backing has bears and trouts on it (it's Scott's quilt, and he wanted it to be a bit more blokey).  Started Feb 2001, finished April 2002.

Gossip Session

Made from an Oz Dye Art kit.  Started October 2001, finished May 2002.

E-I-E-I-O

These blocks were swapped on the Quilting Down Under list in October 2001.  The blocks have been frayed and primitive stitched onto the backing. I machine quilted it, but primitive stitched the raw edge binding and the tabs. Started October 2001, finished April 2002

Australian Animals

I made this for Jade's birth in December 1999.  It hangs on her bedroom wall.  Jade's mum Vanessa is a great lover of Australian animals.  The pattern is by Margaret Rolfe.

How do I Love Thee

This Sarah Sporrer designed wall hanging was made to hang in our bedroom.  It was completed in October 2001

Struggle and Survive

I made this quilt for the Canberra Quilters' exhibition challenge.  It was inspired by my friend Colleen who had recently died.  "Struggle and Survive" is a song which Colleen sang.  The quilt was finished in September 2001.

Apples in my Kitchen

I made this wall hanging for our kitchen.  It is designed by "Nicole's Art to Live With".

Flannel Hearts

This quilt, my first (and only) bed quilt, is made from recycled flannel shirts.  It is tied and sashiko quilted.

Classroom Sampler

This is my first quilt.  It was started in June 1997 and finished in June 1998
