This quilt is my own design. The background blocks are done using the "stack and slash" technique, and the birds are appli-quilted onto the quilt. All the fabrics are my own hand dyes.
It was my entry for the 'firestorm' category of the Canberra Quilters 2003 exhibition in August. It is my response to the January 18 firestorm in Canberra. And yes, there will be a "Fractured Sky II"!
