Little Quilts

These are some little quilts I have made over the years - most of them have been given as gifts to family and friends.

Gin, Tonic & Lime Peel

I designed this quilt using QuiltPro4. The block in Orange Peel, and I used just two colours for an interesting positive/negative effect.  This is my first attempt at needle turn appliqué (don't look too close!)

John's Catch

I made this in a night for my dad, a keen fisherman.  The pattern is from one of Sarah Sporrer's books. Started and finished on 10 June 2002.

Spring Fling

The blocks came from a swap on the Minitreasures email list.  Each block is 4 inches finished, and had to be foundation pieced, with a spring theme.   Begun 2001, finished May 2002.

Have yourself a mini mini Christmas

Another quilt made from a block swap on the Minitreasures list.  Started in October 2000, finished May 2002.

New York Beauty

My friend Sandra's 40th birthday was spent in New York City - hers and my favourite city.  When she returned to Australia, she had a second birthday dinner in Sydney, and I thought a New York Beauty mini would be a great present.  Begun 2 Feb 2002 , finished 8 Feb 2002.

Batik Schoolhouses

I made this quilt for me, and another one for my quilty ,mate Natalie in Eltham.  Finished Sept 2001.

Tyran's Quilt

This mini embroidered  wall hanging was made for my friend Vanessa's son, Tyran, on his christening. Started and finished January 2002.

Christmas Angel

I made this quilt for Bernadette in Greendale, as part of the Kris Kringle swap on Kindred Quilters.  The redwork is a Wendy Brigg design. Finished November 2001.

Christmas Nine Patch

Using some spare Christmas nine patch blocks, and some redwork patches, I made this quickie quilt to brighten up the house a bit at Christmas time.   Finished December 2001.

Chang

I made this quilt for Duanchai, a departing workmate.  She loves elephants, and Chang is Thai for Elephant.  The pattern is from Margaret Rolfe's "A Quilter's Ark". Finished May 2001

Cockatoo miniature

This mini was made for my mother-in-law Beryl for Christmas 1999.  The pattern is by Margaret Rolfe.

Cold Finch

This Sarah Sporrer designed mini was made for my friend Helen for Christmas 2000

"Chook" series of quilts

These chooks were designed by Sarah Sporrer.  I fell in love with them, and ended up making four - the first was for Scott, the rest were for various friends.

Tulip wall hanging

I made this for my mum in lieu of getting real tulips on Mothers' Day (at least this will last longer than a bunch of tulips).  It is also a Sarah Sporrer design.

Splendid Fish wall hanging

This was made in my first ever foundation piecing class.
