Nickname: Alleycats Clan Origins: The Panathera came to life in Egypt shortly after the first Setites appeared. It is believed Bast, Egyptian Goddess of Cats, along with her sister Sekhmet, were the originators of the bloodline. After seeing what the Setites were doing to their people, the sisters devoted themselves to the destruction of the snakes. However, the Setites proved to much for the newly created bloodline, and they were wiped almost out of existence. For eons the Panathera kept in hiding, waiting for the perfect time to strike back at their much hated foe, but time moved on, and the Setites became more powerful, and the Panathera became weaker. Sometime during the dark-ages, the Panathera came out of hiding. Though still moving in secrecy, they began to slowly repopulate the blood line. However, the ravages of time weakened the Panathera drive for vengeance, and though they still hate the Setites passionately, the culture they strived to protect no longer exists. Panathera no longer go on raiding parties expressly to destroy Setites, however, should one appear before her, a Panathera will not feel the slightest bit of remorse for putting a merciful end to the poor snake's existence. Appearance: Panathera choose their progeny from all walks of life. Most, however, are extremely feline in visage. They normally clothe themselves in very durable clothing that always seem to be covered in rips and tears. Haven: Panathera tend to take haven in large roomy areas. Studio apartments, Lofts, old barns, museums, and zoos are often preferred by the Alleycats, though they will haven anywhere they can find enough room for their pack. Background: All Panathera are extremely comfortable with their bodies. None have any qualms whatsoever with nudity or sexual activity. In fact they are the only known Kindred who can still attain pleasure from sexual intercourse. Panathera usually pick their neonates from those humans who have shown great kindness to felines, have been extremely promiscuous in life, or have shown a great degree of athletic or gymnastic ability. Common concepts: Prostitute, Cat-Burglar, Drifter, Outcast, Gymnast, Egyptologist. Character Creation: Most Panathera come from parts of society that are deemed "unwanted". Most are young, ranging from mid-to-late teens, to mid-twenties. Natures and Demeanors are quite varied, ranging from caregiver to sadist. Physical attributes, and Talents are primary. Some common Secondary Abilities are Seduction, Style, Dancing, and Torture. All Panathera start with the merit: Catlike Balance and the flaw: Intolerance (the player must state what annoys the Panathera). Clan Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Pantherium Weakness: Panathera must sleep with a pack to regain spent Willpower through rest. See Organization for a definition of "pack". Note: a Panathera"s pack does not necessarily need to share her bed. Organization: Panathera usually move in packs of two or more individuals (possibly to fend of their weakness). A pack does not necessarily need to be comprised of entirely Panathera, in fact most find the company of other Alleycats acceptable for a short time only, but to be considered a pack, the Panathera must make an emotional commitment to the other. A pack can be any other creature a Panathera can coax into sharing a room. Most Panathera make pet ghouls, cats are most common, or lovers their pack. Gaining Clan prestige: Since the Panathera have no formal clan meetings or organization, prestige is usually awarded to the older, more wily of the Alleycats. Also, those who collect the most fangs on their Setite necklaces gain additional prestige. Quote: "Tell ya what . . . You take the biggest, meanest, nastiest dog you can find, an' I'll get the biggest, meanest, nastiest cat I can find, and we'll see who walks away from that scrap. By the way I'l put my money on the Bengal tiger. Stereotypes: Camarilla: "Organization is a good thing, but these guys could cramp someone who's used to runnin' with a pack. - The are powerful in their own right, though there methods need refining. Eurynomous, prince of Corpus Christi Sabbat: "Stay the hell away from these guys. They've never had a Panathera join, and they never will. Do yourself 'fore they c'n do you." - The fury of a Brujah and the bestiality of a Gangrel. They would be the perfect warriors. Monica Sabbat cardinal. Setites: "Do your mother a favor and show each one of these bastards a nice, slow, painful death" - Panathera?!? Oh there's one over there. Here, pussy, pussy, pu . . . Deneshe Setite neonate Lupines: "They'll frag ya just as soon as look at ya, but they can be reasonable at times. 'Sides shifters need to stick together, right?" Bastets: "These guys are our kith and kin, trust them like your own mama. I even have known some to run in packs with us."
