Nickname: Angels (Seraph and Fallen) Clan Origin: This enigmatic clan is believed to have been begun by an ancient vampire known only as Sebastian. It is said that Sebastian, unhappy with his sire's work, took it upon himself to create a new line of kindred. The name or clan of Sebastian's sire is unknown. Sebastian spent several centuries cultivating the discipline Celestine, and taught this to his new progeny. Until recently, the Angels have been hidden, appearing only to inspire mortals, and kindred alike, into believing in the existence of winged kindred. It is believed that an appearance by one of the Fallen is what inspired Tremere into creating the monstrous Gargoyles. But this is only a rumor. In modern times, the Angels have been making themselves known to kindred at large. Surprisingly enough there are as many, if not more Angels in Sabbat packs than there are affiliated with the Camarilla. Still a majority of the Ethereans remain aloof from such political distinctions. Preferring anonymity and solitude. Appearance: Angels are exceedingly beautiful, and must have an appearance of at least three. Also all angels have wings, some have graceful, dove wings, and some have leathern, bat wings. Those Angels who posses Humanity have snow white dove wings, these Angels are referred to amongst themselves as the Seraph. Angels following a path of Enlightenment posses dragon-like wings, these Angels are known as the Fallen. All Angels start out with 6 to 10 foot wings which allow them to fly at speeds up to 50 m.p.h.. To determine the speed she can attain, the Angel rolls Strength + Athletics (difficulty 6) each success is equal to 10 m.p.h.. Angels do not have a set look that all adhere to maintain. Some have long, flowing hair, some have shaved heads, some wear the latest trends, some adorn themselves in tunics and robes. All Angels must mutilate their clothing to allow access for their wings. Haven: The Angels make their homes in spires, skyscrapers, or any other building that is tall, remote, or has easy aerial access. Most will close off all but areal access to their havens. Background: Angels can be of any background. Angels choose their progeny from a great variety of stock. Though their appearances vary, all are beautiful in life, and fit. Angels have an aversion to embracing overweight kine. Character Creation: Etherean characters can be a variety of ages, though most angels avoid embracing the very old or very young. Natures and Demeanors are quite varied, though most have a caregiver basis. Social Attributes are Primary, as are Skills. All Ethereans must spend at least one point in Celestine. Clan Disciplines: Auspex, Caelestine, Presence Weakness: The Angels have two distinct weaknesses. Firstly, they have large wings sprouting from their backs, and while this grants them the ability of flight, it also makes them easy to spot. Secondly, an AngelE's eyes always show the color of their aura. The strength of the glow is governed by the intensity of the emotion, ranging from a barely visible tint, to an awesome gleam. Use the Aura Color chart to determine shades. Organization: Ethereans meet once every two years on Samhain. This meeting takes place at a local graveyard, or aerie. All Angels in the area are required to attend, and no outsiders have ever lived to tell what they saw at such meetings. Angels are the only known clan to accept Camarilla, Sabbat, Anarchs, and Independents as equals during such a clan meeting. In fact, political affiliation has little to do with how Angels treat one another, Sabbat affiliated Fallen have been seen socializing with Camarilla affiliated Seraph. Surprisingly, no action is ever taken against Ethereans with friends in the opposing political faction. Gaining Clan Prestige: The Angels revere the more experienced amongst them. To gain prestige, an angel must complete valorous tasks, and prove her worth to the clan (similar to the Garou's Renown). Angels also respect those among themselves who have cultivated some great cultural ability, such as poetry or song. Quote: "You seek truth, and deem my existence as the proof you need. I am not that, I am merely one of the damned, cursed to wander through eternity." Stereotypes: Camarilla: "They do not realize how much like the Sabbat, whom they so hate, are they." - The Angels are lovely creatures, but are mysterious in their ways. Like them if you wish, but don't trust them. Felicity, Seneschal of Corpus Christi Sabbat: "The Camarilla's darker mirror, neither side knows that they are one and the same."
