JOSE RAOUL NOVIDO
ABAD Ask the
girls of Einstein 4 on who among the boys they think to be the most
mysterious of all. Probably, Raoul’s name will top the
list. JR, as his friends call him, maintains a calm,
childlike and very relaxed mood in any, “as in any” situation.
At first glance, you would think that JR is snobbish and a little
weird. But as you get to know him better, he’ll prove you
wrong. Just raise a topic like sports or computer games, and
you shall get what you have long been waiting to hear from this
“baby face” – much talk. And as for the ever-smiling JR, getting along
with anyone can be as easy as ABC – just meet him
halfway. |
JOHN PHILIP ONG
CABUGAO “Atterni!!!!”
This title, as one of his teachers call
him, really fits this guy because he can reason out on
anything. His classmates defy him either him as a thinker or
as a first-class nut. “Flip”, is also one of the founders of The Boy
Bastos jokes, among other jokes that he made famous. On the
other hand, Flip could also be a good confidant and advice
giver. A sweet talker that can easily charm his way on the
hearts of his “prospects”, Flip is also a bonafide Stamina
Boy. Nevertheless, this
aspiring lawyer still has much more to prove and much more is
expected from him. So brace
yourselves! |
RONALDO SUBIDO
CADDARAO A cracker of
corny jokes, athletic, funny yet goodlooking … put these
characteristics together, and voila! You’ll get Ronaldo
Caddarao. A lover of sports like the world-renowned soccer
player from Brazil, Ron-Ron is also a star at his own right.
He excels in almost every sport (or does he?) and is also the father
of out-of-this-worl punchlines. His wit, looks and charm have
made him won the heart of many Scientians. Nevertheless, he
maintains a humble and sometimes indifferent attitude. This
aspiring lawyer?????? Plans to bring about justice to the poor as
soon as he becomes a successful defendant, just quit that piyok
tendency when you get to court,
okay?! |
EDDIERICK
VERIDIANO CAMBA
Here is the guy with the yellow cap !!! Erick is
definitely the king of japorms. He almost always comes to
school wearing something trendy. Moreover, he never runs out
of tricks and gimiks. An obnoxious french fries eater and a
self-confessed Mama’s boy, Erick has this peculiar habit of treating
his classmates on junkfoods. He is so generous that you can
sometimes hear him at the end of the day asking for a minimal cash
loan because his whole weekly allowance has totally been wiped
out. Nevertheless, Erick is still one of the best pals one can
ever have. |
VINCENT
PATRICK SALVADOR DELA
CRUZ A boisterous,
honest to the point of being tactless, nerdy- looking guy who can
fast- talk most teachers into delaying tests and project deadlines-
that’s the kind of person that Einstein IV ‘99 has for a
president. Aside
from his raucous voice, his distinctive laughter, and the self-
righteous way with which he can make anybody laugh, there’s
something else that sets him apart from the rest of the guys in the
batch: believe it or not, he’s The Electron’s Health Editor.
Needless to say, despite his happy- go- lucky attitude and the
careless manner with which he lives his life, the real Vincent has
yet to be met. |
HAROLD PEDRO
ESPALLARDO Having a very
dark complexion, Harold often finds himself the butt of almost
everybody’s jokes. But he has style. He can take them
all in one stride.
As President of the Interact Club, he is
forced to have a friendly personality since mingling with other
people is one of the activities of the said club. Although
most people consider him proud to the point of being overbearing,
his friends know otherwise. He is one of the most considerate
and caring guys in the batch (right, M----?). And if you see a
floating white shirt at night, never fear for it’s only Harold
walking in the dark! |
PAUL ERNEST
AVANCENA HABACON
Another enigma of the batch. He is one of
the walking proofs that first impressions do not last. One can often
see him sitting in a corner staring off into space and nothingness
or reading some weird book. He is the image of serenity.
That’s all he is: the image of calmness. But, like a coin, Paul has
two faces. If ever Quezon City Science High School has a
debate team, Paul will surely be in it. He loves arguing,
among other things. He is also a player of the school’s doomed
soccer team. Despite his quiet and aloof manner, Paul is a
friendly and funny guy. Are you having a hard time believing
that? You should have seen him when he sang Einstein IV’s
Mathematics jingle to the tune of Voltez V. .
. |
ALVIN GANCENA
GARLAN Check out the
Einstein IV classroom, a certain locker, and some of the
notebooks scattered about in the said room. Although Alvin
swears that he has no intention or whatsoever of being an interior
designer, nobody else but he is to be blamed for the
appearance of the section’s
classroom. He is
another one of the senseless people of the batch whose answers to
questions are as far to each other as heaven is to hell. Regardless
of his weirdness and his fondness for Mojacko, Alvin has that rare
gift of being able to mix with everybody and anybody simply because
he is one happy guy. |
BIMBO ANGELES
MARIANO Jellyfish. .
. that is what his classmates during their freshman year
dubbed him as because he has the ability to jump rope until the rope
is held only a foot away from the ceiling. He also insists on
being described as a superb volleyball player. For once, most
people agree with him. What sets Bimbo apart from other guys is his
unwavering loyalty. Maybe that is why some Einstein IV ‘99
people keep on calling him “dog”. . . |
JOSEPH SELGA
MARQUEZ “Jojo”, as he
is fondly called at home, is a cheerful guy who loves to hang-out
with his friends. He belongs to a group of hyper-active and
athletic boys, the STAMINA BOYS (as most of our batchmates would
call them), and even claims that he is one of the founders of the
group. But despite the long time he spends with his friends,
he still spends some of his time with his classmates. Girls describe
him as a gentleman, because of the way he treats them, specially….
He may seem to be light and happy-go-lucky, but he has already stet
dreams for himself. And that is to become a civil engineer and
to own a construction company
someday. He’s
funny one time, he’s serious at another. Maybe, he is totally
unpredictable, and surely, he’s got lots of
surprises. |
NINO CHARLES COLANDRINO
OLIVEROS “To live
simply and to die simply,” this is what this fellow believes.
No doubt he treats everything simply, even problems. That’s
why he has been a confidante to his close friends. Give him a
problem, he’ll supply you with an advice. Though he looks tough on
the outside because of his built, he is soft otherwise. He is
childlike (or childish?) and innocent (or ignorant?). Proofs
are his many questions about life, women and love. And these
are not just simple questions but mind-boggling ones. Though many of
his friends are girls, he is surprisingly chauvenistic. He
says that men are wiser than women and that they are born to
succeed. Really ?! |
JEANNE MARIE
RAMOS ALBERTO The Pop Diva
of Einstein 4!
Although she barely understands why her
classmates call her that way, Jeanne Marie is indeed accepted by the
people around her. You can easily make her laugh or ask her to
teach you some hard lessons. Though she seems a little
snobbish and somewhat reserved (to whom?), the truth is she’s very
understanding. This aspiring physician believes that aiming high and
setting your mind on your goals is the surest way to being
successful. She also believes that one can live happily
through simplicity.
With that kind of thinking, surely Jeanne
Marie is set to soar high above the clouds. Good
Luck! |
JANILOU CALARA
CAYABYAB “Expect the
unexpected!”, thus warns the wild, liberal and opinionated
Janilou. This sinangag monster is often seen reading countless
romance pocketbooks (and she never stops). She often brings to
school her most sought-after fried rice recipe that has already
become a perennial favorite among her classmates. No need for
viands. Janilou always maintains a good stand on any topic (PMS
being the most memorable one). She can even be frank enough to
shock you to your mind’s content. Moreover, she participates
so attentively in class, that you’ll find yourself wondering when
she’s gonna stop. All in all, this future cardiologist is one
of the best classmates you can ever
have. |
MARIA ISABEL CUDIAMAT
COLUMBINO Isla as most
of her classmates would call her is the feminist of the class,
though she may not admit it. She automatically protests if she
sees her female classmates doing the hardest chores on class.
And as for the boys, she is the popular wake-up call. But Isla
could also be a good buddy. She can also be a great source of help
in catching up with some lessons in Calculus and in Math. She
can also be great supporter, laughing at your jokes no matter how
corny they are. Indeed, Isla has specially won a special place
in the hearts of her classmates. |
LEAH ANNE MARIE GOZAR
DAVID The girl with
the shrill laugh!!! Leah, is considered as the youngest member of
Einstein 4. She is a child in so many ways, that you can
easily get along with her as you would with a seven year-old kid.
Though Leah may have the ways of a child, her mathematical skills
and leadership potentials exceed that of her age. A consistent
class officer and problem-solver, Leah is dependable and
reliable. She’s also intelligent, witty, and a smart alec that
no one seems to win over her on a petty debate. She’s also a
bonafide member of the Romance Addicts of the Philippines. So Leah,
keep up the good work as well as the child in
you. |
CARMELI KING
ECO Meli is the
perfect embodiment of a bonafide rocker. Though she maintains
a conservative and reserved disposition, deep inside she is all the
way cool and wild. Meli is also blessed with a golden voice, simple
but pretty looks and a nice smile. Underneath her complex
personality, lies a talented writer of poems, essays, and short
stories, a music lover and a party animal. You’ll often hear
her tell stories about the countless parties and rock concerts that
she has attended. Surprisingly, she wants to settle for a
writing career in the near future. That’s Meli. Just when you
think you fully know her, you’d better think
again. |
TONI CAMILLE
BUGARIN FAVIS
Ang
babaeng maputla. She may really be pale but Toni is one of the
shiniest stars of Einstein IV. She is the Features Editor of
the Banyuhay and the PRO in Filipino of the Zone IV, among other
positions under her belt. She is friendly, attentive and
intelligent, perfectly matching the pretty face that has placed her
in the elite list of Que-Sci’s campus
personalities.
Toni also has a compassionate heart. That’s why
helping the less fortunate ones, especially the children, is one of
her goals in life. And that’s why Toni has won the hearts of
so many seniors, girls and boys alike. |
THERESA VICENTE
LIM If
anyone else in the batch knows the meaning and value of loyalty,
then it will have to be Theresa. T-rex, as some people may think, is
just one of the regular faces in the crowd but she definitely stands
out on her own.
Theresa is simple and very approachable
but underneath that simplicity lies a very interesting person.
\She is kind and humble at heart, very helpful and very
encouraging. She is probably the best confidante that one can
ever have. She’ll be willing to help you in any way she can
and it is always difficult for her to put you down. Definitely,
T-rex owns one of the golden hearts in the
batch. |
JULIE CZARYNE JALBUEN
MAGBIRO Julie is one
of the few people who hate being on the spotlight. That is why
only a few people know her. She would rather blend with the
background than be one of the props on the front stage. When the
rest of her classmates are busy eating or talking or whatsoever, you
can see Julie sitting on her chair, quietly reading a 300- page
pocketbook. She is also an avid fan of Nick Carter’s and she
often mixes illusion with reality so don’t mind her when she tells
you about the stuff that she and Nick did over the summer. .
. |
SITTIE MOREINA SALI
MAMOKHAN Aside from
being a Moslem, there are other things that make her different from
the rest of the ‘99 people. She isn’t a novice when it comes to
playing volleyball and the guitars and shuffling a deck of cards.
Despite her quiet beauty and her extraordinary talents, Sittie
possesses a rare honesty that makes people want to get to know her
better. Unfortunately, she, too, is afraid of the
spotlight. . . |
ROSANNE
CHRISELLE SONGCO MEDEZ
When other Scientians have the gift to
play different kinds of sports, Rose (remember Titanic?) has the
exceptional gift to write about them. As Sports Editor of the
Electron, Rosanne is forced to know a little about every sports-
something that comes naturally to this girl. She is also good in
Calculus and Miss Rodriguez loves having her for one of the “little
Professors” because, according to the said teacher, Rosanne gets
each student’s (especially the male ones’) undivided attention. She
can be often heard imitating Taylor Hanson and singing
“Mmmbop.” Believe me, she’s good. .
. |
IRRA RUTH
MENDOZA If she’s not
reading a Johanna Lindsey pocketbook, she can be heard
singing. If she’s not singing, she can be seen playing
volleyball. . .
Although most people think that she is
quite snobby, her friends know otherwise. Irra would rather be
the listener than the talker, the reader instead of the explainer. .
. In short, she is one of the few who would rather fade into
the background than be the center of attention. But I think she’s
having a hard time doing just that as she is the vice president of
the Interact Club. . . |
CARMELA
NIERVA Some consider
her to be wild. Others think that she is weird. In a
way, Carmela can be fitted in both categories. She answers
teachers’ questions with style- particularly, a few dance
steps. Her tinny voice can be often heard over the clamor of
the rest of the students. But, believe it or not, Carmela can be
serious when the situation calls for it. .
. |
BERNADETTE
ORETA Badette
is one of those rare quiet beauties. She is one smart girl but
one would never notice unless one asks her something. See,
letting others know about her abilities comes rarely to her. But,
being a true Scientian, she also has a wild streak. Once she’s
in her “insane” mood, one had better watch out. . . Still, she’s one
friendly, irresistible girl. |
CYNTHIA VARGAS
PAR Her soft
voice, long eyelashes and noticeable dimples would be perfect to
describe Ching physically. Because of this, she was a class
representative to the Miss United Nations when we were
sophomores. Mind
you, her beauty is not only limited on the outside, same or even
much more is in her. She is a responsible leader, a certified
achiever and an obedient member in class. Though being linked
to some boys and classmates, she remains casual and humble.
She is also hardworking and diligent as the rest of her friends
are. She believes in the old cliché “Try and try until you
succeed.” This admirable lady also looks up to other people which
include her parents because she says that they are
hardworking. She believes that hardwork is the key to becoming
the person she wants to be someday a computer
programmer. |
JEMIMA FAITH
SY- QUIMSIAM
RAMOS Mai
could be one, if not the busiest Scientian, being the PRO of the
Students’ Consultative Body, an English Club and Drama Guild
officer, one of the Managing Editors of the Electron, and the
drummer of one of Scientia’s all- female band, the Peach
Powder, most of you could be wondering how she could budget
her time and reserve some for her studies. Well, she says that
she likes to die knowing that she has done all that she could.
(That’s why.) This hyperactive and happy- go- lucky girl admires
Adolf Hitler the most because, according to her, he has no
heart. She believes that in today’s society a man has to have
no heart for him to survive. (She thinks
so?) |
MA. CONCEPCION GALIZA
RIVERA Connie could
be a qualified Scientian for the McDonald’s ad. “May dimples
din naman ako, a,” for her dimples are the most prominent
features of her face. Also, her close friends tease her as an elite
model contestant because of the way she walks. On serious matters,
this bookworm and religious person could be trusted. She is
responsible and initiative and critical. She thinks that one
must live his life to the fullest. She has been so industrious
so that she could successfully pursue a computer
course. |
RONNA GRACE MANOOS
SISON “Get
your future before the future gets you,” says Ronna, an aspiring
lawyer and businesswoman. This smart, thoughtful and friendly gal
surely catches everybody’s attention with her trivias and funny
stories. Truly, she is a good conversationalist like the
person she admires, Jessica Zafra, who smartly and
openly speaks of her opinions. Though she has her hyper moments, she
has her silent ones. During these times, she indulges herself
into any kind of books or completes her notes. When she
positions herself on a chair and does her thing, nobody could ever
disturb her. |
MELISSA SUAISO
SALCEDO Melissa could
be described as just one of the crowd. She is where her
friends are. She is just one of those simple Scientians.
Not until you meet her up close and personal. Contradictory to what
your first impressions of her may be, she stands out in her crowd
(because friends say that she’s crazy). Her friends are there
where she is. She is one of those sophisticated and exotic
Scientians who is an avid fan of rock music and among the Best Poet
Society. Peeking into her serious aspect, though that is only a bit
part of her, this unpredictable pal wants to become an
engineer. |
JENIFER ARIAS
TONG A lady
with chinky eyes and a cute smile. But more to these is her
being selfless. Proof to this is her being a member of the
Interact Club and the quality time she spends with her closest
friends just to listen to their stories. A die- hard fan of Winnie-
the- Pooh (the yellow- orange bear who wears the red hanging shirt),
Jenifer loves playing computer games, sleeping, and collecting
Winnie the Pooh items. She says that once you have planted words
they will last and continue to grow. That’s why she has been
careful and tactful. |
MAUREEN AVA
VALERIO This aspiring
engineer is never outdated when it comes to the latest fads, which
include fashion, music, and computers. As of now, she has lots
of friends on- line. She believes that if she does her best, God
will do the rest. This explains her being industrious. During
her spare time, she listens to rock music, reads, hangs out with her
friends, or chats in the Internet. Though she may seem quite
unreachable, she isn’t. As a matter of fact, she is one of the
few appreciative listeners of jokes, even corny ones. She has
always been generous with
laughs. | |
