CHAPTER 4
On a beautiful sunny afternoon, Teku began to come out of her long sleep. She opens her eyes and they met Sesshoumaru's. Beautiful lavendar meets mysterious gold.
It's him, thought Teku. The one with the sword.
She tries to get up but elegant hands stop her from rising. Sesshoumaru gently sets Teku back down.

"Rest first," said Sesshoumaru

A look of confusion rests on Teku's features.
Rest first? She was left staring at Sesshoumaru's angelic face. But...I thought he was my enemy. Why didn't he kill me in my sleep? He could have but he chose not to.
Questions swirls around in her head and Teku tries to answer them. She thinks nothing but of Sesshoumaru's actions. And Sesshoumaru...thinks only of Teku herself. What is she like, what is she doing in his world, and what is her name.
But before these questions could be answered, he must first provide answers to the previous ones. Of all the nights he sat thinking, Sesshoumaru has searched his heart and soul to find answers. He has succeeded and is ready to reveal them...to Teku. He'll reveal everything to her, in hopes that he'll be able to hear her voice for the first time and perhaps know her name.

Teku gazed into Sesshoumaru's eyes. Just looking into his gorgeous, gold eyes gets her heart beating.
There's something about his eyes, something that didn't want to murder me.
Teku continues to look at Sesshoumaru's perfectly sculpted face, trying to read his emotions. Sesshoumaru sensed it and tore his sight away from her and onto the ground. He would rather him tell her than her figuring it out.
What? Why'd he do that? thought Teku. An awkward silence stayed lingering for a while.

Sesshoumaru spoke, breaking the silence. "Okami youkai...it's not in my nature to save an enemy."

Save? He saved me? pondered Teku. The flashback of the fall passes in front of her eyes. That's right!!

"But also, it's not part of me to murder someone in their sleep."

He answered my question!

"I didn't kill you, though I could have. In fact, I should have. But something inside of me forbided me to commit that act. That horid act to end your life."

Ok, what the hell is he talking about now?

Sesshoumaru closes his eyes and smiles. "Heh, listen to me, I'm rambling. Talking about ending your life and my decisions. You must be confused as to what I'm saying,"

You got that right, thought Teku sarcastically.

"So I'll just get straight to the point."
Sesshoumaru looks directly into Teku's eyes. His eyes filled with...longing....and a hidden emotion waiting and willing to be revealed.

Teku stares into Sesshoumaru's eyes. She no longer thinks of herself. All the thoughts that run through her head are all of Sesshoumaru's feelings. The emotions Teku's trying to read. Try as she might, she cannot read the hidden emotion.

"Okami Youkai..." Sesshoumaru sounded very calm. Teku just looks at him, confused.

"I th-think I-I'm..." he studders. He knows full well of what he's about to say. Unlike Teku, who still gazes at him with a look of confusion.

"Okami........I think I.........love.........you."

Teku gasps, not knowing any other way to react. Sesshoumaru continues to look into her lavendar eyes. He shows no emotion and no regret.

As another awkward silence passes over, Sesshoumaru speaks. "I know it may be weird. I mean, I barely even know you and automatically I love you. After so many years of living here, I've only felt love once. And ever since we were separated, there had been an emptiness in my heart, a void in my soul. Then I saw you. At first, I was just annoyed at you for following me. But after you first attacked me, I realized what you were doing. When I looked into your eyes, your beautiful eyes, I could tell that deep down inside, you were crying. You had lost something very dear to you and that's why you are the way you are. I fell in love when I realized that. I was hesitant to kill you, I couldn't stand harming such a beautiful girl. But I did anyway. My anger took control of me and I stabbed you. I apologize for that. When you started to fall from that cliff, instinct took over and I wanted to save you. It's instinct to save the one you love. After I saved you, I brought you here. I had no medicine to cure you, only my useless sword. But that required killing you, which I couldn't do. I allowed you to heal naturally. You must be mad about that. I was there by your side and yet I didn't heal you. But believe me, on all the days I sat by you, it hurt me. It pained me to see you wounded and I couldn't lift a finger to help. All I could do...was watch and pray for your recovery. You must not believe me. But what I'm saying is the truth. I will do everything in my power to assist you in finding what you seek. I'm not saying for you to love me back. That's your own decision. But if you do accept me....please....tell me your name."
Sesshoumaru is left with a face of sadness and relief.

Teku blinks.
He loves me...Sesshoumaru...loves....me. She's still clueless on how to react. She reflects on past memories. She remembers Sesshoumaru saving her. She remembers the scent of Sesshoumaru's clothes when he carries her to the forest.
Without knowing it, Teku reflects on the memories of her father. She remembers him saving her and healing her as well. She reflects on the teachings from him and living with him. She remembers the death of him and of her transforming into her murderous wolf self.
He's just like my father. When I first saw him and he told me my story. I can't believe it....

Teku begins to think. Not with her brain, but with her heart.
Oh my god...I think I...Well, he did take care of me. Only one other person has done that....only one has cared for me that way he did.

Teku examines Sesshoumaru's face.
Those eyes...that perfect porcelain face...he's serious. He revealed his innermost feelings to me. He revealed his entire soul to me....in hopes that I'll do the same for him....

*************************

After many hours later, Teku and Sesshoumaru are still left staring at each other. Teku found what she needed. She looks away and closes her eyes. Sesshoumaru sighed, sounding disappointed and heart broken. He took that gesture as a sign that Teku had rejected his love. Though he desperately wants to, he fights to hold back his tears. But the pain is too great. He looks away and closes his eyes. Warm tears roll down his cheek. He makes no sound, just...tears.

Teku tries to sit up. Though she's wounded, she succeeds. Sesshoumaru does nothing to stop her. He doesn't want her to see him crying, vulnerable.
Closing her eyes once again, she smile. Not at all a smirk. Just...a very sweet smile.

"..............Ryuuji Teku."

owari

They're now together!! Yay!! In case you got lost in Sessy's pretty speech, if Teku told Sessy her name, that would mean that she loves him back. Plus, it's the first thing she's ever said since her father's death. How special!
