| CHAPTER 1 Darkness. Pain. Blood. These three things are all that Teku desires. She wants nothing more than to cause pain to others and spill their blood. She wants to love in complete darkness, shadowed and hidden from the cruel, unforgiving world. Darkness. Pain. Blood. This is what Teku desires and it's all that she has become. A faint sound... The sound of footsteps... But how could that be? Teku thought. No one knows this place. No one should be here. Especially at night. A look of confusion and a hint of frustration covered her face. Where she was, no one was suppose to be. She has carefully chosen a forest in a very remote place. She thought she was sure that no one would come. However, someone did. Filled with frustration, Teku decided to see who was coming. Graceful and almost angelic, her body changes from her demon to wolf form. Her skin went from a perfect complexion to covered in black fur. Limbs changed from human to animal. Her black ears and black tail remained the same. Impossible as it may sound, Teku went from a human form to a wolf form. Slowly and carefully, she walks from the middle of the forest to the edge. Her paws delicately walking on the soft earth of the forest floor. It was like she was hunting her prey. So careful and didn't make the slightest noise. She was almost like walking on air. "Uh...my lord? Where are we?" The sound of the mysterious guest's voice hit Teku's wolf ears. Instinctively, she stopped in her tracks. She just waited and listened, silent. "Hello?" "What is it Jaken?" Jaken? Teku thought. What is this Jaken? Curious, she continued walking carefully to the edge of the forest. Once she reached the edge, her soft, warm wolf eyes met her guest's figure. She not only saw one, but 4 figures, walk along the outside of the forest. She immediately focused on the tall elegant one. What she saw was almost breathtaking. Long, white hair, rich kimono with shoulder and chest armor, he almost looked like an angel. Narrow, gold eyes and dark markings set in a perfectly sculpted face. Perhaps it was the hair that caught Teku's eye. Or it was the sharp claws on his right hand. No, none of his gorgeous features were what Teku cared for. When examining this angelic figure, she noticed the swords, one unsheathed and the other perfect, almost unused. That sword...that beauiful sword...Teku's thoughts running rapidly through her head. All thoughts of that sword...that beautiful, unsheathed sword. I must have that sword. That beautiful sword doesn't belong with that weakling. A surge of hatred and jealousy ran through her body. The feeling of confusion of why this person was here left her. Though she wanted the sword and had her mind set on getting it, she was still hesitant to move. She continued to watch this person walk with his 3 other companions. As he continued walking, she followed him, staying hidden in the forest, just waiting for her chance to strike. "I...uh...just wanted to know where we are." The feeling of fear could be heard in his voice. "Don't worry about it. Where's Rin?" His voice was very calm and emotionless. Rin? Who was this Rin? And Jaken? He must be that little thing next to the long haired person. One question answered, another one is created. "She's on Ah and Un my lord." Ah and Un? Teku's eyes went from focusing on the swords to the other 3 creatures around it. She saw, a little green imp. Carrying a staff with heads, he looked like a little priest. However, he had some frog/reptile-like characteristics. Behind him and the tall figure was a creature with 2 heads. A dragon-like creature that had a leash on it. Riding this dragon creature was a little girl. She must have been about 7 or 8 years old. She had black hair with a little ponytail on the side of her head. She was asleep on the dragon creature. "I'm sometimes confused about your actions. Why keep a human girl with you? It makes no sense lord Sesshoumaru." Sesshoumaru! Teku thought. His name is Sesshoumaru. Upon hearing that last remark, her questions were answered. She was ready to strike. "She's just a helpless mortal girl. Why should the great demon Sesshoumaru have to deal with that?" Jaken seemed confused, and yet jealous. Since Rin came, he felt a little jealousy towards her. She seemed to be more closer to Sesshoumaru than he was. Though he was his servant. "Jaken..." Calm and steadily, Sesshoumaru spoke. "Uh...yes lord Sesshoumaru?" "Shut up." Sesshoumaru hadn't thought about Jaken's last statements. Sure, Rin was a human and he was a demon, but Rin hadn't really gotten in the way of his journeys. He did have to make a few detours for her, but it hadn't gotten so bad that she needed him everyday. He figures that since Rin at least made an attempt to cure him from that battle with his younger brother Inuyasha, that he should repay her by bringing her back to life. With reviving her, he allowed Rin to travel with him. Though he won't admit it, that's the reason Rin is with him. This is my chance, thought Teku. While he's occupied with this so-called Jaken, he's distracted and unalert. With her plan set, she slowly and steadily walks to Sesshoumaru from within the forest, getting closer. Her prey just waiting to be struck. "Hm?" Sesshoumaru's attention was diverted from Jaken's complaining. He heard the faint sounds of snapping twigs and crushing leaves. He stops and looks at the forest. So focused, like he's waiting for something to appear. "Lord Sesshoumaru?" Jaken asked. He too stopped and looked at the forest. He became confused once again as to why Sesshoumaru has stopped. "Why did you stop here my lord?" "Show yourself!" Sesshoumaru's voice was very sturn and demanding. What? Teku thought. Damn, he must have picked up on my scent. Figures. He really is a demon. As gracefully as before, Teku's body transforms from a wolf to a person. Her wolf ears and tail remained the same, as usual. "I know you're in there. I know you've been following us. Speak now or else I'll force you to." Sesshoumaru was angry. But though he was mad, his voice didn't show it. It just remained the same, calm. If he wants to see me, so be it. Teku, lavendar eyes focused on Sesshoumaru's gold ones, walks out of the forest and slowly to the one who wishes to see her. "A young woman. But she's not a human. Look at the ears and tail. She's a half-breed." Jaken said to Sesshoumaru. Annoyed at that last remark, Teku tries to stay as calm as possible and not tear off the little green imp's head. "She's not. She's a full-blooded demon...like me." Sesshoumaru doesn't seem to be as demanding as he was before. He's back to his calm self. Jaken looks at Sesshoumaru in confusion. Lord Sesshoumaru is acting differently. Normally, he'd be annoyed and asking many questions. But now, he's just standing there, staring at this girl. Poor Sesshoumaru. He has no idea what he got himself into. Teku prepares, goes into her fighting stance, ready to take on Sesshoumaru. |
