| CHAPTER 2 That stance...what is she thinking? Is she really thinking about fighting me? Sesshoumaru ponders this question for many moments. He never would have imagined a young girl he doesn't know fight him. But being the demon that he is, he can't resist a good fight. Seeing Sesshoumaru just standing in front of her, Teku makes the first move. She charges forward, holding her sharp claws out. Sesshoumaru swiftly moves to the side and allows Teku to move right past him. Damn, thought Teku. He's fast, faster than I thought. Teku stands still and looks at her opponent with her piercing, but beautiful lavendar eyes. Her eyes, so gorgeous. Thinking about what he just though, the beautiful Sesshoumaru can't help but be confused. Me? Thinking about beauty? Teku makes another attempt to hit him, not giving him any time to think. Sesshoumaru was caught off guard and got hit by Teku's sharp claws. Her claws pierces his abdomen. "Lord Sesshoumaru!" Jaken exclaims. He usually stands on the sidelines, not disturbing his master in battle. However, in this battle, he may need to assist him. Teku, feeling quite satisfied with her attack, removes her hand from her opponent. What the hell...what happened? Though Teku had a solid hit on Sesshoumaru, he never flinched. He just stood there, bleeding from his abdomen. A look of terror covered Teku's face. Strange, Teku thought. Why am I so scared? I shouldn't feel this way. I'm Ryuuji Teku goddammit! Fear is for the weak! Interesting opponent, thought Sesshoumaru. Attacking me when she knows nothing about me. Too bad for her. She must learn the hard way. With that said, Sesshoumaru draws his unsheathed sword he calls Tokijin. The sword begins to pulsate at the sight of Teku. It's like the sword has a mind of it's own. A sword...with a pulse? Impossible. Teku was more confused and shocked than frightened. Not only beautiful, but strong as well. I must own it. I must.... The possession of that beautiful Tokijin was all that was on Teku's mind. That want and need made her completely forget about who her opponent was and what his abilities were. Her goal was to get that sword, by any means necessary. "You ready?" Sesshoumaru said, pointing his pulsing sword at his opponent. The sound of Sesshoumaru's voice snaps Teku back into reality. She must now focus on her fight, instead of the sword. Without hesitation, Sesshoumaru swings his sword towards Teku. A bright, light blue light sprang from the sword and directly towards her. Teku easily dodges it and poises for another attack. Sesshoumaru swiftly moves from in front of Teku to behind her. He thrusts his sword into her back. He misses, allowing Teku to counter him. She quickly turns around and grabs Sesshoumaru's throat with her sharp claws. The impact sent Sesshoumaru on the ground, pinned by Teku's hand. "I'm coming Lord Sesshoumaru!!!" screamed Jaken. He couldn't take it anymore, he must help his master succeed. "Fear the power of the staff with 2 heads little girl!" A red flame is unleashed from one of the heads and sped towards Teku. The scent of fire... thought Teku. Still pinning Sesshoumaru, she turns towards the flame until she was face to face with it. She lifts up her free hand and stops the flames from touching her. Her body was engulfed by a dark ki, her dark ki. "Impossible!" exclaimed Jaken. His attack upon Teku was a failure. She was still there, unharmed. Not even a little burn...and she stopped it with her hand? Who is this girl? Here's my chance, thought Sesshoumaru. Though he was pinned, he could still use his sword. Holding his Tokijin, he thrusts his sword into Teku's back for the second time. But this time, he didn't miss. He had successfully stabbed Teku in the back, piercing her heart and lungs. Blood spewed from the wound and onto Sesshoumaru's beautiful face and clothes. The grip upon his neck was lessened and then gone. Teku fell to the side, lifeless and powerless. Sesshoumaru stood up, sword in hand, drenched in Teku's blood. He remains expressionless, just staring at the wounded wolf demon. "You sure took care of her good lord Sesshoumaru." Jaken sounded quite relieved and happy. "She was so weak compared to you." He walks to the wounded Teku. "Serves her right for trying to attack you." Jaken pokes Teku's face with the end of his staff, making sure she's unable to hear him. "She's still alive Jaken," Sesshoumaru says while placing his sword in his belt. "What?!" At that remark, Jaken steps back several feet. "Why didn't you kill her my lord?" Sesshoumaru remains silent, staring at the lifeless wolf. "Uh...my lord?" Teku regains consciousness. She struggles to sit up but can't. The wound on her chest is so great, it forbids her to stand up. "My lord! Look! She's trying to sit up!" Jaken's expressions were both surprised and confused. Sesshoumaru remains motionless, as if all his strength was drained and he couldn't move from the spot he was at. With all the strength she had, Teku stands up. She endures the pain that has been bestowed upon her body. She may be awake, but she's not completely back. She would normally see her opponent and kill them immediately. But no, she just stood, staring at the ground. "Finish her off lord Sesshoumaru! Hurry while she's wounded." The excited Jaken couldn't wait to see his master in action again. I can't. Her eyes...they're lifeless. There's no life in her eyes. It's as if...she's risen from the dead, Sesshoumaru thought to himself. Something deep down in his heart is telling him not to kill Teku. There's just something about Teku's eyes that...he can't seem to end. He doesn't want to kill her. As Sesshoumaru is pondering, Teku attempts to move and walk. She only gets a few feet when she meets a ledge. Not being in complete control, she doesn't see that she's on a very tall cliff with a small river at the bottom. She walks directly off the ledge and plunges down to the bottom. The sight of this event makes Sesshoumaru's stength return. He quickly run to the ledge from which Teku fell. He looks down, catching a glimpse of the falling okami. "What's the problem my lord? She fell on her own. Just forget her." Jaken said, somewhat confused about his master's actions. Ignoring Jaken, Sesshoumaru jumps down from the ledge and hurls quickly to the ground. Long, white hair flowing from the falling dog demon. Sesshoumaru had become like a fallin angel. The appearence of his falling explains that theory. He hopefully can catch up to Teku and save her. His body may not have wanted to jump, but his heart and conscience wanted to. At the rate he was falling at, he caught up to Teku. Sesshoumaru wraps his arms around her and prepares to land. He moves so that he can land on his feet. Inches from impact, Sesshoumaru floats down to the ground, cradling Teku in his arms. The shock had sent Teku into sleep. Once Sesshoumaru lands, he doesn't move. He just looks down at his catch and thinks about what he had just done. What's wrong with me? thought Sesshoumaru. Why did I just jump off a cliff to catch this girl? Was I actually willing to risk my life in order to save her's? Sesshoumaru ponders these question for many moments. What was he thinking? He was willing to sacrifice himself, just to attempt to save her. And yet he doesn't even know her name or even what her voice sounds like. Not much longer as Sesshoumaru lands, Jaken comes, riding on Ah and Un with Rin still asleep (what a heavy sleeper). "My lord! You're okay!" "Did you seriously think a little fall could harm me?" Sesshoumaru snapped. He was feeling frustrated and needed to release some of his stress. Those 3 questions keep eating away at Sesshoumaru's mind, demanding answers. But he hasn't got any. "Uh...no! Of course not my lord." Jaken senses the anger in Sesshoumaru and backs off. "Jaken..." Sesshoumaru's back to his calm state. "Uh...yes lord Sesshoumaru?" "Take Rin to a secluded area. Stay with her. I need to be alone for a while." "With that girl in your arms?" "Go!" Jaken scrambles. "Yes my lord! I'll be waiting for your return." Jaken commands the dragon creature to move and all 3 disappear into the night. |
