Clothes have been worn since the earliest of times to protect humans against the elements, since we do not seem to have the physical characteristics as that of animals.  The seemingly advanced technology of making quality clothes in the past gradually improved and there came to be a new variety of clothes, such as the jacket.  Eventually, there were varieties of jackets, to be suited for different conditions.  For example: there is the raincoat, which is helpful on a rainy day, and a down-filled jacket for the winter.

          In the 21^st century, modernization and technology has made skyrocketing turns in the charts of the world market.  Due to increased subzero adventures and challenges in the unbearable heat, our markets are filled with clothing systems and technologies with increased efficiency that: kill bacteria, increase defense against the weather, allow release or retention of heat, and allow dispersion of perspiration.

          Due to recent studies on ways to improve the athlete’s performance, the market specialized in athletic wear has generated tight fitting clothing with materials that allow the skin to “breathe” in heat with increased ventilation.  On the other end of the thermometer, the same market has generated “clothing systems”; a set of multiple layers or pieces of clothing.
