| In 1999, the Post Adoption Resource Centre began research for a book called The Colour of Difference. Over 30 inter-country adoptees within Australia were asked to contribute their stories to the book. This anthology contains writings by those who have been adopted into a family of a different culture to themselves. Following the completion of the project, it was suggested that the adoptees retain their newfound friends. One of the contributors, Lynelle Beveridge volunteered to co-ordinate this network. Since that time, Lynelle has done her best to expand the network, with it now consisting of over 75 members. Due to the adoptees geographical distance from Sydney, where Lynelle is based, the network required it's own state representatives to facilitate social gatherings and group discussions. Queensland is one of the new divisions of ICASN, so we hope to have the same success that NSW has had so far. The national networks contact list and newsletter is maintained by Lynelle and issued to all our members on a monthly basis via e-mail or post.
